and regarding comparison..pardon me,but I think Lorenzo can never ever be compared to schwantz,ever..schwantz was always known for his daring moves,all out riding style..he used to fight hard with doohan,Gardner,Rainey etc on a much inferior machine..Raw talent & crazy spectacular riding style.plus he used to crash a lot because he was sometimes way over both his limit and his machine's..cant stop bragging.

he's my favourite rider..
Lorenzo is exact replica of Rainey in my opinion.consistent and always inch perfect laps

Hai na...? I thought so too

...but I just thought I was too involved that's why im getting that intuition..

But the change in rpm did sound similar to RC213V changing gears..I might be wrong. for our ears it's a very small difference to be noticed instantly.

Though i would like to add a subtle point. Just before tipping the bike into the turn i do unweight the outside peg and sort of "pull down" the bike with the outside knee/thigh pressing against the tank while countersteering. Because the bike is obviously harder to turn in while weighting the outside peg heavily. But for the during of the hard braking part i found weighting the peg does help keep the rear wheel resonably planted.
Also, consider the leg waiving that rossi and clutchlow do. the body has got to have a support point other than the bars and tank and i can't think of any thing other than the outside peg.
But ofcouse all this is just my 2 cents. :-)

Another thing, these guys also have the benefit of better sculpted knee recesses and traction pads. But i don't know if that makes a significant difference.

the concept of loading the footpegs and rider body anchor points is explained in the book - "Sports riding techniques" by Nick Ienatsch.

pulling down the bike with outside knee thigh pressing against the tank is while riding really hard. same as picking up the bike after corner when you forcefully pull it up quickly.

yes you are right about that leg wave by rossi, recently around an year ago i started experimenting with it, but soon found out that i am only able to wave my right leg and that too when i am not taking the corner too fast. on really fast cornering i don't have time to wave my leg... ofcourse i am no rossi... he he..

and yes bigger tank and better knee recesses do help ... i realized this when i rode that GT250R, your middle body automatically gets into a nice firm and stable position and inner thighs hug it nicely.

Comparison entities were arbitrary. I meant we should compare how riding styles have evolved. Personally, Schwantz was never my favorite. That place goes to Mick Doohan..especially after he reverted to the screamer configuration.

Beyond a certain point a discussion on cornering tends to sound like theorizing and intellectual masturbation. Afterall, the proof is in the riding not the discussion. :-)

Oh My...so it takes less than half the time of he conventional gearbox to shift..but it's still takes double the time that Honda gearbox takes.

This news makes the Honda gearbox more impressive to me
