  • This is the moment of truth. The tyres have already started showing their dark side. Casey is there to witness Marc attempting to break his lap time. But Marc has not had the pace to do it yet.
The next 15min "should" be exciting.

That seagull stuck in the fairing looks to be giving the M1 wings..lol

Great ride by Jorge Lorenzo... @R-series Indeed, that seagull did gave his/her flying powers to Jorge Lorenzo's M1

Looks like Valentino Rossi has something left on his basement... May he win here

Lorenzo added few more feathers to his helmet today

It was gruesome to watch Lorenzo running laps with poor seagull protruding out of his bike.

            Insane updates on twitter.

Moto 2 race - No. of laps have been halved as the tyres are unable to last the full race. And teams have to stick to recommended tyre pressure. No experimenting. Failure to comply will result in penalties!

MotoGP Race- Race Direction says that the race will be split into two parts. Riders will ride the first half of their race on one bike and then jump into the pits and take their second bikes for the latter half of the race!

Tomorrow is going to be some IOM TT kind of fun at Phillip Island

            BTW New Tarmac to blame.

Bridgestone and Dunlop did not develop tyres keeping in mind the resurfaced track!

In WSBK this year, Pirelli had spent two months at and with Philip Island guys on developing the tyre for the race, yet a lot of them crashed.

Don't know what is going to happen tomorrow.

            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Update: Scott Redding won't be riding tomorrow, broke his wrist in a crash in qualifying at PI. Thai rider had a massive crash at PI in same sequence of corners.

Asphalt claims its first high profile casualty, which will effect the championship.

The pit lane speed limit zone will be extended both on entry and exit.

I think Jorge Lorenzo did not knew that seagull was still hanging there. He was a man with mission in QP.

The best scene was Jorge Lorenzo coming back to pit... and the photographers where waiting to click some pictures of the dead seagull. And when he arrived and stopped at pit, they went crazy for pictures and flooded the right side of the fairing of JL M1. May that seagull's soul Rest In Peace.

Now this can fall in favour of Rossi.
There is no limit to optimism when it comes to Rossi fans.😀

If flag-to-flag race is a TV ratings success, will Dorna reduce fuel limit to 11 litres to make fuel stops compulsory from 2014? Ha ha ha?

Scott Redding likely to miss Phillip Island and Motegi races, decision to be made today on whether to operate on fractured wrist or not

The first ever flag-to-flag race was here at Phillip Island. I’d rather take on the Taliban singlehanded than stand in pit lane again!

MotoGP has gone officially mad. Moto2 race shortened to 13 laps, and MotoGP now compulsory flag-to-flag. All because no tire testing at PI

                      David Emmett@motomatters1m
As @Motoworldjp pointed out, Honda had points docked for the design of their rear wheel sensor, should Bridgestone and Dunlp be punished?

                      Azi Farni@AziFarniBBC1m
Redding will have surgery in Melbourne tonight and will not participate in tomorrow's race. Fat lady doesn't sing til Valencia though peeps!

                      David Emmett@motomatters1m
It's quite insane. This was all done because they didn't test the tires on the new surface. A cost cutting measure too far.

Yamaha 'll suffer. Their top riders on 5th engine. Bikes 1 and 2 'll have different performances.

The riders have to pit either on the 13th or on the 14th lap. 'Pit stop times' are almost irrelevant here. Everyone needs to jump off from bike #1 and hop on bike #2. This happens within 1-2 sec.
Hope that no one gets obstructed in the process.

Not just that, they HAVE to use the Hard Compound Tyres. Honda's work on those tyres, Yammies have so far suffered on the Hard tyres. That being said, Rossi was doing a decent race pace on the harder tyres.

I guess it would be strategically used, but there might not be limits to the fuel allowed in each bike. Maybe the riders/teams would be free to use full tanks, half tanks etc. which ever combination (both bikes) they find best.
