• Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates

Nice start by Smith.
Rossi was so slow, I was hoping he'd get involved in the top group. Anyways, 2nd group battle was good too .
Now then, Pedrosa and Lorenzo need to finish infront of Marquez, for Lorenzo to win the the championship. But Motegi seems to be more Horsepower circuit, so uphill task.

But was worth bunking my work today

Moto2 Podium pic was awsome aint it???

Nice one Braumabull it was hard to believe you were going to miss a flag to flag Motogp race at this time in the championship.
Yeh motegi is a Honda circuit. Literally.
Jorge might just be able to challenge Marc. But it'll be difficult to beat him.
I would really want the championship to go to the wire so I wish Jorge does his job and finishes in front of the no. 93.

how are you so sure ?

lorenzo fended off MM and re-gapped him back a few tenths or more every time he (MM) closed in on him (JL) (before the whole pit-stop mess)...this despite the fact that JL had a couple of moments during that heated first 9 laps (of course though, MM had one too)..99 even had the better pace..and even at the moment 93 was shown the black flagg, he was quite behind lorenzo...not a lot of evidence suggesting 93 would have won it surely..of course, it being racing where theoretically more probable things dont occur so often, so yeah he may have won it but my point is there's nothing suggesting he'd have won it surely.

lorenzo was poised to be the favorite around PI anyway..too fast around here, next to erstwhile stoner of course.

all of them are also people, and so like all people they can't and dont just go on smiling immediately after some mess that screwed them over without having any moment of anger or something...check out 2:10 of this video where MM is shown to be furious as hell and then goes somewhere deep inside his garage..only later on after returning from there he shows a smiling face..

i am sure if it was not 18 points now but much less than that between him and JL, he probably wouldnt have cooled off so much by the time the journos interviewed him...besides, he knew it was a major cluster**** by him and his team, so on whom would he have publicly expressed his anger/crying anyway?

by the way people, marc was black-flagged with lorenzo's black flag - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...44452205603458

on another note, it's interesting how all kinds of mismanagement or otherwise weird stuff happens within the repsol team lately ..for instance,

1 - last year misano, dani's front tyre warmer gets stuck at the last moment before the warm up lap, relegating him to the back of the grid. the fault for that was relegated to some mechanic in his team if i remember right.

2 - aragon this year, something as weird and having negligible probability as one rider (riding repsol) clipping off his teammate's TC wire during such a minute touch..

3 - today's massive screwup.

also, on another note, as braumabull posted a pic of, it's emerging now that someone (in the crowd?) seems to have tried to flash a laser into lorenzo's eyes just before/while the start of the race..david emmett tweeted about it a few hours ago, when i then rewatched the moments before the race start and indeed on the right side of his helmet visor a red laser is seen flashing for a second...this is a few seconds before the start..right at the start it's hard to see because the camera is a bit away infront of them so signs of any red flashes on the right side of his helmet is pretty much impossible to figure out...if it's indeed not an accidental laser flash coming from someone but an intentional one, whoever attempted that is a massive scumbag of course and i can;t even decide what should be done to him...maybe flash a laser on his eyes while he is ripping his bike on the road?

god knows what makes some people do shit like this...a few months ago this shit happened in one of the motocross GPs...brother and father of one of the riders (who didnt know what his family was up to, as it later on turned out) flashed a laser on the eyes of one of the other riders (and a main title rival) at the race start...the whole thing was caught on camera and it led to a lot of bullshit...wtf some people do?

yes of course...JL vs MM this year has been awesome stuff...

the first 9 laps was a heated session between those 3..a few close calls and everything.

as a case of rarity, today even lorenzo was seen sliding his bike a lot through most of the corners, particularly in the first half when MM and DP were behind him...

okay so david emmett just posted some tweets saying he is taking back the whole laser thing he alleged a few hours ago and justified the proposition that it was certainly the reflection of dashboard light on lorenzo's visor.

Nicky Hayden - Ducati Team, 7th
“If I’m honest, I hoped to be more competitive, but it went better than some of our recent races. My first tyre didn’t feel as grippy as I expected. I was racing with Iannone and Dovi, but I knew I was faster than those guys and didn’t want to tow them. I waited to do the opposite of them, so when I saw them go in the pits, I put my head down and did a good in-lap, then did a good lap leaving the pits and was able to put a couple of seconds onto them. I got to the back of Smith at the end, but I was struggling in the last corner, and there were some spots of rain. As for the pit stop, it was easy. I’ve been with my team for five years, and we practice it sometimes. Yes, this pit is tight, but we’re used to doing 340 Km/h, so if you use your head, I don’t think coming in at 60 is so dangerous.

Although Cal was leading Rossi, Rossi managed to regain the position before the entering the pit stop and he was first to head out. Cal followed him which means Rossi didn't do his ritual. The broadcast never aired it but, it's quite evident, I believe.

Wonder why Rossi isn't able to line his bike before turn 1 at the start! Was very surprised to see Smith at 4th. He's improving a lot.

After Pedrosa was asked to drop a place, he did. But, it remains unknown whether MM actually overtook him or Pedrosa allowed him to.

If anybody can find a video of these guys switching bikes, please share. Hayden was the fastest guy on and off the bike, quite commendable considering he is one of the 'seniors' in the paddock.

I only saw Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Marquez. With marc looking like a Cat jumping from one bike to the other.

Downloaded the whole race today. Will watch at office now. The version is the one telecasted in Australia. So it has slightly different camera angles as shown on ten sports.
I actually wanted to see the pit stop part gain and Rossi style of swapping. Makky what I think is he actually might have followed the same ritual keeping is 2nd bike on the left hand side, since he gets off on the left side. Unlike others who had stopped on the left of their 2nd bike and jumping off from the right. But this is just my idea, I've downloaded the video to find that would. Will see if it's even captured there.
