As much as i am a fan of Stoner's riding calling him a legend doesn't sound right. :-P

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
Why not? If Schwantz can be in the list, why not Stoner? He has a much better record. Well, I can't appreciate Kato's inclusion.
No Stoner at PI on the LCR. Bradl is undergoing op in KL, 'll be back for the next one.

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
"Legend" needs to be redefined. One who never wants to retire is a legend!
Legend is one who is extremely good (Skill and Performance) in a given field. Yeah, a retired bloke.
And StoneR is definitely one. He comes with an "R" badge! Proof.Last edited by Makky; 10-12-2013, 09:53 PM.

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
someone said stoner disappointed his fans by turning his back on them...to that, i said that these racers dont race merely to please their fans..it's their lives on the line, their interest to race or not...so it's their decision to do whatever they want about their racing career...has nothing to do with turning their backs or fronts to their fans.Originally posted by Braumabull View PostMost of the things were answered, but I didnt clearly understand what you meant by this
and this reply also for @Satellite.kid.Originally posted by Braumabull View PostPlus, just do a quick research on all the racers with families and still racing, across all leagues, not just MotoGp. You'll see that Stoner wasnt the only special case..
never said all those who race in motogp or otherwise have no families...neither did i say that those with families and babies dont usually continue their racing careers...i was talking only and only about stoner's case and the reasons that he cited for leaving motogp...he wasn't enjoying the whole motogp business except for those 45 minutes of actually racing bikes, he didnt like the way it was heading with the rules and regulations and management, he didnt like way most of the motogp fandom was, plus on top of that he had a baby and he explicitly said a bunch of times how he felt like missing out a lot on seeing his daughter grow up doing this whole motogp thing that he wasn't even enjoying anymore in the first place...for him (and i am and was not generalizing to other racers with families), the daughter-father factor played a role in him wanting out of it all...it may not have played any role at all if he'd have been enjoying motogp and way it was and the way it was headed etc etc in the first place...but he didnt enjoy those very things, which was the primary factor...family and all that just piled up as further reasons.
and just for the record, i dont agree with his take on where and how motogp was headed...it was one of those things i had got a bit tired of hearing from him..but then, he's more entitled to say shit about it all than we do...

it appears that's what is the definition (or at least an important factor) considered by a lot of the people. :\
23 damn wins on the ducati...proof enough..plus, the king of slide in this modern era of motogp...one doesnt even have to like him (or anyone) to appreciate brilliance where it's present...wasn't so good with racecraft and battles though...Originally posted by Makky View PostLegend is one who is extremely good (Skill and Performance) in a given field. it does feel a but weird to me too to declare him an official motogp legend, but that's because it's not even a year he left motogp and he is so young..that;s why it's a bit weird to me to call him an official legend already...he might just return if suddenly motogp goes 750cc two-strokes from next year
@Satellite.kid - i said "unlike MOST riders in the grid", not "unlike ALL other riders in the grid"..colin and casey were the only ones with actual family - kids and all...that qualifies as saying "unlike MOST riders in the grid"..Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 10-12-2013, 10:25 PM.

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
Rossi's crew is chuffed to bits after the qually. Hard work. Hope that the wide grin stays there even tomorrow.
Anyone who watched the qually can throw some light on the carpet issue at T1? Heard that Bradl hit the shitE there. Rossi and MM are raising the issue.
.................................................. ...........................
On a lighter note, Dorna's decision to confer "Legend" on Stoner is an ultra smart move thus, ensuring that he won't make a come back. Makes life easy for the new blue-eyed golden boy, 2 Spaniards and an old lion. Ya cheeky bugger, Ezpeleta!

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
that's true but why saying that ? i never said he doesnt have anything...it will be some kind of a feat for any other present (well, even future, for that matter) aliens to possibly match what rossi has been doing for so many years (conditions apply, though)...but anyway, i dunno where this point is coming from from my original post...on the matter of the GOAT, i only said that the guy who had 23 wins on a bike riding which the supposed goat couldn't do anything (and possibly the 2011-12 development lines turned that bike into something much worse) deserves a bit more respect from people than just to say that he wasn't passionate about racing because he god tired and fed up and quit and thus he doesn't qualify the definitions of being a legend...sorry if you couldn't see the point of what i said...has nothing to do with 46's special-ness, so no need to defend it here :-)...even the humbled rossi himself now probably will agree that calling stoner not a legend just because he quit apparently because he was not passionate about racing makes no sense and is actually a bit too unfair and disrespectful towards him..Originally posted by Satellite.kid View PostEven the GOAT has "something" in him for so many years that other riders will hardly possibly match.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 10-12-2013, 10:43 PM.

Aditya, no one's here doubting Stoner's riding skills so stop being so defensive on that point. Some of us were just trying to share our opinions on Stoner's decision for leaving the sport. That's it.Last edited by Satellite.kid; 10-13-2013, 05:08 AM.The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

Yeah awesome one...congratulations to salom, he took the last corner very smartly.
Amazing Finish for mahindras. First time on the podium.
I was expecting Marquez to atleast be in the top 3 but he got attacked in last lap. He never looked so fast to win the race.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Re: MotoGP 2013 Season - Updates
What an end to amazing Moto3 Race. Just Amazing. Happy for Mahindra, as they finished 3rd
That carpet in turn 1 really dangerous. Located in the outer part of turn1, just after the asphalt. And after the carpet, there is little asphalt and after that the Run Off Area starts. Basically its, Race track Asphalt - Carpet Area - again some asphalt - Run Off Area.Originally posted by Makky View PostAnyone who watched the qually can throw some light on the carpet issue at T1? Heard that Bradl hit the shitE there. Rossi and MM are raising the issue.
While falling from the his bike Stefan Bradl was sliding on his right side down and left up. First, his right leg caught up in the bike after falling anyhow he was able to release it from bike. While sliding he reached the Carpet area with his Right leg sliding on road. On Carpet, Something of his boots(maybe Company embossed decal...I don't know exact) caught the carpet material. And resulted in a NASTY jerk pulling his ankle joint while sliding. It was real hard jerk.
After stopping from slide, he was holding his right ankle. And was taken in stretcher. MotoGP showed slow motion video of his slide. It looked real painful.
I Didnt knew about Rossi and Marquez raising the issue. I think it should be removed.
