@ WSBK Hmm don t have much knowledge about any of the guys from AMA but it does seem to have a great talent pool, I read about Spies when he rode fr Suzuki @ motogp ! thats when i found out about him ! How old is Mat ? If he s that good And What do u predict his next move will be ? Move to SBK or GP ?
@ AMA And since US is a big market ! Why don t the other companies invest huge amount in AMA then ? why don t Honda,Yamaha guys put the cash they put in SBK ? .. I ve heard that these Americans dont know Becham or Rossi ..but they pledge by the names of Carl Edwards and Alex Rodriguez.. So if BEn or Matt had won on Yams or Hondas they are gonna sell better rght ?
@ BSB Ya i did see Guintoli stealing the shw with his Zuki ! I thot he was good in GP itself ! doin wateva he cud with the machines he had ! A poor Yamaha with Dunlop ! :O and then a year with a Ducati which only one man can ride in the whole world .. So i Hope he gets a seat somewhere in SBK with a championship win in BSB !

Mat Maldin had done couple of SBK wildcard rides. din't take off anywhere. he is from the land down under. he's a veteran and a legend already. i doubt a SBK or a MotoGP will do justice for his age.

yes Suzuki, honda, and ducati do invest in both BSB and AMA. ducati has pulled off from both the series. Ducati had issues with rules and regulations in the AMA. again in the AMA its factory support no factory teams directly. the trend has just picked up in WSbk. can't wait for KTM and MV Augusta to walk into SBK next year (now that Harley Davidson owns it).

Americans do know Rossi. atleast the motor racing fans do. about beckham yes he too is quite popular. but then. think of US as India as a whole and then when you compare Cricket and Bollywood . you know what sells.

Bumper weekend for us Petrol heads!
Its WSBK in Assen, MotoGP in Motegi and F1 in Bahrain!

Particularly looking forward to WSBK. Assen is one of my best tracks.

So any guesses for the podium?
I think it will be a Haga, Spies and Biaggi show all the way, would love to be proven wrong though.

Ha! i want to see Spies & Haga DNF in both races. Max takes a double and the championship wide open.. nah. spies and haga will have their hands full. assen is fast and twisted this will show what ducati and haga are really made of and ofcourse Ben Spies. expect and all English assault.

what the hell is checa upto. i hope he shines on this one though along with the suzukis.

Must be one of the craziest finishes !All top 5 within a sec ! and top 15 in 5 secs !
Race 1 Haga makes a mistake goes to 15 th place climbs up to 5 th !
Race 2 Haga CRASHES !!! Spies Takes the Championship lead

wait a sec.... that was also the last round of 125 in Qatar .. it was the closest race ever in the history of 2 wheel racing.

You bet, reading this is giving me the creeps.

Lesson learnt.
I really, really want Haga to take the crown this year, so please god dont let it rain on his parade.

Its ok Hiren !

Haga is looking too good this year ! In valencia i found him to look like a keyed robot to go around the track ! Not even a single mistake !
I would like to call him HAGABOT from now ! And lets hope for a great weekend with some rain ! Races in rain are awesomeeeee !

@soul ! Hey i do remember that race man ! That was freaking awesome ! 5-6 riders taking a corner in 6 different lines ! That can never every happen again unless we have a 2 or 3 lap race !!!
Down south in national racing the MMSC race track ! the races are mostly 8 lap races ! Very quick and close It s a good watch too !

if there is close racing then you will find it in the world Super Sport class. i posted the highlights from youtube earlier in the thread. but yes the new asses track will be a blood ground.

watch out for: Hopkins, byrne, Biaggi, Ant west has raced in motogp last year he is no new to the track as well... come on Ben... Haga does not like this track either.. nor the BMW's

are there just the three of us in the entire xbhp membership who follow WSBK???? damn.. guess people are missing out on a lot of action..

hey suren... do you remember foggys last corner move on colin edwards ... eehhhh! ten years back i suppose... i forgot what track that was.. but foggy was .7 adrift with chilli tailgating.. untill the last bend.. where foggy gets that extra drive out of his ducati and beast edwards on the line... actually this was the race where they declared edwards the winner... but foggy only knew when he came into the park Furme...

this was much better than that.... in a long time...

They are missing out a lot seriously ! they are missing on classic raw racing and unless brand culture develops ! I don t think ppl here would start watching SBK .

And about Fogarty ! I have not seen much of him racing, I started with Haga ,Corser, Colin and Baylisstic seasons ! But i have a pretty old friend who s arnd 40 ! who just worshipped him ! And do post if u get any of those videos from Tube .
And what exactly happ in the second race ? i missed it ! How did Ben drop the bike ?

I guess a part of the problem lies with Zee sports. They never advertise the sport and secondly the channel is only available with Dish TV, Airtel and cable.

Dont quite know how he dropped it. Took the lead on lap one, the channel took an ad break and it returned with a shot of Elbows in the gravel.

Has anyone of you followed the 2002 WSBK season? Bayliss won most of the races in the first half and Edwards wining most races in the second half of the season. I think its the best season WSBK has had till date.

Youtube has a WSBK channel by the name of WSBArchives, has highlights of all from 1992 season, a must see for a WSBK fan.
