And Bajaj owns 38% stake in KTM.Originally posted by R-series View PostWhich brings me to my old point, that its a KTM product and not a Bajaj product as stated by someone earlier.
Ofcourse, the Duke will always sell as KTM Duke and never as Bajaj Duke, but Bajaj has been involved at the design and developement stage. Lets not try and find out which line was drawn by Bajaj person and which one by KTM person. And it may well be that the contribution from Bajaj to the design and development would have been of sending their engineers to go and see how KTM people do it. But even that makes difference in longer run.
To sum up, I am not saying that Duke 125 is entirely Bajaj work. The end product that is on European streets has come from joint efforts by Bajaj and KTM.

what I'm trying to say is that as end product users, the 125 duke should be considered a KTM product rather than a bajaj product. Obviously im not taking the credit away from bajaj as it might seem, but still if we buy this, our statement should be that this KTM is good/bad (depending upon individual feedback), instead of claiming this on Bajaj.
Bajaj has a major hand in manufacturing this, but at the end, its a KTM.
Like Audi and VW. the designs and procedures move well across the firms. But still we react to them as individual products. This is just what I'm trying to maintain here that if someone is claiming that the Pulsar makers can make stuff like KTM125duke is something irrelevant.
Its like saying someone who can bake cakes, makes such good ice creams. I mean there is no relation in it.
Similarly, Bajaj still being the makers do not take the credit of the KTM being what it is, because they are told, what to do, how to do,when to do. I hope you understand.
But either ways, I'm not against someone giving credit to bajaj for this, just trying to place my point of who according to me should get the credit of the bike being good or bad.Last edited by R-series; 04-13-2011, 02:55 PM.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Completely agree with you. It would be stupid on Bajaj's part to go around saying, we made this!! But I did read somewhere that Bajaj team was involved in design stage. Sorry, but don't remember the source.Originally posted by R-series View PostHere we go again,
The true test of Bajaj will be to actually apply the lessons from Duke 125 to Pulsar. Then it will be Bajaj achievement. Till then, its KTM who take the cake. But if I am getting a KTM by Bajaj at the price of (KTM+Bajaj)/2, who am I to complain??

Good this bike did not come to India, the 200 should be perfect, in the video the bike seriously feels underpowered, stunts wise perfect, I am talking abt the city rides shown in the video, the engine is screaming.
And yeah the tank cap is lifted from the Pulsars
. But looks wise the bike is 9/10. I just wish the bike was a little bigger, the rider in the video looks so huge that the bike is barely visible. Does this come with a projector?
