CNBC report on Mahindra Cevalo pricing:
CNBC TV channel has confirmed the news, stating that Mahindra is about to launch a 300 cc motorcycle along with a 125 cc commuter motorcycle in our country. Chances are then high indeed that the teaser video shows the 300 cc motorcycle. The Mahindra 125 cc motorcycle is expected to be priced starting at Rs. 46,000, ex-showroom, Pune. The TV channel also reported that Mahindra’s two wheelers will be launched in two-three weeks. This means we would see the launch towards the end of September or early October 2010.
Will it be the stock Sym Cevalo 125cc loaded with features? Doubtful. In order to keep the price in check, Mahindra may shed a few features.

if its the correct news and the true specs of the bike then i don't forsee it in the market for long....a 300cc twin cyliner with just 25bhp is not acceptable at all....it will be overpowered by the other players very soon making it look like a donkey among the horses....Originally posted by vinoob View Post

v already have p220 delivering 21+ bhp(mind u its a 220) 25bhp is too low for a 300cc

Well if it is a single cylinder 300cc powerplant I think 25bhp is a decent output.Originally posted by hotshot.vipin View Postwell the pictures of the bike says so with two exaust pipes which can be seen in the piks cropped from the promo video....

300cc 25bhp twin cylinder
Seems like more realistic to me as
- it would still give descent mileage of 35kmpl given that fuel prices are sky rocketing every now and then and if the bike can manage speeds of 120-130kmph on highway comfortably it should do fine.
- It will target a larger audience who are thinking of something less than a Ninja from the price point because not many in India can afford a 3.2 lac Ninja250R in the first place... and something more on performance levels from R15,ZMA,ZMR,P220 on those weekend trips
- Naked bikes are a bit harsh on the rider which i support but people liked Comet from the VFM point of view compared to a Ninja, they will like this too....yet they will all miss a fully faired or just half faired bike on a weekend trip but guess people will find some aftermarket stuff

- refinement etc etc yet to be put to test but a head start in that price segment will definitely make other manufacturers enter the segment with a product priced in the similar price range(Honda,Yam and Suzuki hope you are ready
)
Cant wait to see it in real at showrooms ....cant wait for those official XBHP pics from the launch....Last edited by roshan3440; 09-25-2010, 03:25 PM.tour-master on exile
