The torque is 12.66 NM at 8500 rpm, but that doesn't say much about the rest of the powerband.

1. It could well be better than R15 from the signal start up. However, its unlikely to be much better at it, than RTR's and Pulsars due to afterall, being a 150cc only. And, Don't expect it to match ZMA /ZMR's strong pull in any case though.

2. Low end being sluggish than R15? This is not necessary. Remember that we got a figure of 12.66 NM at 8500 rpm. It is possible that due to the low maximum torque value, the bike is stronger & better throughout the range, due to this compromise...

Yes, R15 gets stronger beyond 5000 rpm and then achieves 15 NM @ 7500 because its an engine tuned for the high end power.

In fact, the Maximum torque and power figures signify performance at particular rpms only, not the rest of the powerband. So, its very hard to say anything without getting a proper performance graph which I couldn't find on google.

But, Bike India did report earlier what I already suspected: CBR 150R's torque is spread throughout the range, unlike the R15, BI says.

3. Yes, it should. Easily. As speed and rpm increases, you start feeling the claimed power. Keep it around 7000-9000 rpm and it should feel peppy! In fact, such high-end-tuned engines (like R15, CBR150R) are better at touching big figures than dealing with traffic at low rpm. It gives some 17.8PS @ 10,500 rpm.


Rest we can say, only by test riding it. But believe me guys, Figures are so deceptive that you may be proved wrong later on if you make statements based on them...

This is what i could make out from the review.

Ergonomics: Seems to be the same as a cbr250r. Pic speaks for itself.

Acceleration: cbr seems better than V Ixion in Indonesia. (the cbr has lower max torque than the v ixion.)

Handling: Seems sharp and agile(unlike the 250r). No comparisons put.

Suspension: Not as advanced as the link type suspension on the cbr250r but there seems to be no significant difference between ride quality of the both.

Tires: Seems to mention the bridgestone battlax. Not relevant to india. But it also says (i think) that the same type of tires being fitted at the factory on both the 150 and the 250.

Final comments: The review kind of says that its a cbr 250r with a smaller engine and better handling.

EDIT: Sorry for the misleading comparisons of cbr with r15. Didnt realise the r15 has an engine tuned for more power than v ixion. Edited with proper info.

My question is -

1. Will there be drop in pickup , while starting from the Signal Lines ( in doubles ) compared to R15 , Apache 180 , P 220 , ZMR ?

2. I guess its Low end torque will be sluggish than R15 V 2.0. I guess bike will be active from 6 K RPM or above .

( Note - Why i point out this because , when i tested my friend R15 V 2.0 , " although its torque is 15 NM " and In doubles starting from signal point the bike pick up was very sluggish and the bike was active from 5 K RPM and above )

3. Will this CBR monster can hit 100 km/hr in ease ( in doubles ) ?

Note - I know that no one have tested this bike yet . But , i just like to know what's on your mind . What do you guys think ?

some road test indicates althouh it has low torque figure on sheet,it is not felt on-road,thanks to the gearing.
