    So,
    Mojo's top speed = 2.6 x (speed of P220)
    = 2.6 x 135 Kmph
    = 351Kmph

But it will be just 150Kmph

    Roflmao.......
well actually u did not understand,

Mojo's Price = 2.6 x (cost of P220) is not equal to Mojo's top speed = 2.6 x (speed of P220), u got some math problem, feel sorry for u(doubling of cc does not translate into doubling of speed)

but thats not the point. 25 bhp for a 300 cc engine is too low. a 300 cc engine is capable of producing above 30 bhp. that i feel is efficiency. thats all i wantd to say. this bike should have been more powerful.

    • Finally the short review and the excerpts from the casual chat with Mr. Viren Popli is here

Firstly thanks to Mr. Viren Popli for spring so much time for us and answering all the questions and make us the lucky few to sit and get a first hand feel. The bike was not complete and hence couldn't be started but we were the only lucky people to photograph the working headlamp, taillamp and instrument console.

      On Styling
The styling of the bike cannot be categorized under one specific category, closest it can be termed as a lean power cruiser. One look at the bike and you know that this is the styling which will be accepted by developed market where styling has gone a full circle, but how an Indian customer will react to it only time will tell.

The Mahindra people are calling it a modern classic and Mr. Popli added that the seating and riding characteristic will be similar to a cruiser but why the bike ad projects it as a track bike is still a mystery for me.

The seat is very comfy but the handlebar is pretty wide and the riding stance is akin to KTM Duke 690 and it will need getting used to

How the name of the bike was coined?
Mr. Anand Mahindra is a big fan of the Blues and loved the song, ‘I got my Mojo working’. Mojo meant Voodoo or magical powers and has connection with voodoo amulet which supposedly brings good luck charm in one’s life and hence the name of the bike

Bike has a lot of first time for the Indian market like
      USD Forks*
      DOHC
      RVM mounted LED turn indicators
      LED pilot lamps
Twin exhaust (Honestly I don't see the usage except for the extra weight)
Tank mounted ignition & handle lock
Electrical speedo sensor giving way for extra speedo cable

On quality of parts and fit and finish
Fit and finish and the quality of cycle parts used are extermely good and since most of the key parts like EFI(Ducati Energia), USD forks(Paioli - Italy), Disc brake (J Jain - Spain), Tyres (Pirelli) and others will be imported so the quality in the final production will remain same. Most probably the bike will come in CKD format

The suspension of the bike was clearly very soft and most probably the final production bike will have a stiffer setup than this one.

      Other important information
Test rides will be given only to the prospective customers for a nominal booking amount which is yet to be finalized

Mahindra guys are calling it the new Fastest Indian and on questioning Mr. Popli he said that the top speed will be over 150km/hr

Bike will be available at Metros and other Tier I cities to start with and currently work is going on in building the service backup for same. No clear date of product being available to customer was given but booking/sale should start around Jan ’11. The first bike will be auctioned and the money received will be given to a NGO.

Bikes will be available as per bookings and will not be readily available .
This is my guess - For example one consignment after 50bookings and so on.

Final production bike will have metal tank and Pirelli tyres are the standard fitment on the bike

      Some photo details
      Radiator Cap

Foldable front end of gear lever i.e in case of a fall the front part will fold and won't break or bend

      • @All - Thanks for liking the pictures. There is a special reason why the detailed pictures are posted because the complete bike picture is everywhere on the net. Since I had the time crunch so posted those pictures first which are not there on other sites and most of the xBhpians will be interested in.

          • thanks MG

            1 into 2 Exhaust theory
I feel mahindra is trying to optimise the performance by providing two shorter length exhaust pipes for all the 300cc of gases to quickly exit ( something closer to a free flow( not 100%) but yet confirming all norms )... just my opinion....

A single exhaust pipe for a 300 cc might have been of a bigger dia (overall size). Also looking at the bike, I feel a single bigger exhaust would have made it look bad aesthetically and mass balancing would probably effect the handling too( may be)

So for equal mass distribution and faster flow, twin -exhaust is what Mahindra chose to go with ...
Any other reason one could find ???Any comments

Now whats this Electrical speedo sensor? And what does it do to increase one more speedo cable?

One more query: Where is the engine sourced from? You mentioned it being launched as a CKD, so that means its an imported bike.

                Thanks

Me too sounds confusing. I would expect if its electrical. It may have electrical wiring connection the blue light to the gauge. Meaning, eliminating the need for a conventional cable that rotates. The blue light may be some sort of lazer, like in computer mouse to detect the spinning of wheels.

Warning: this is my wild theory .

I guess almost all bikes have a mechanical cable which goes to the speedo and mostly its from the front wheel to minimize the length of the cable, but in case of an electrical speedo, the length of the cable can be long enough to be taken from the rear wheel. This is my guess, Mahindra knows best.

taking it from rear wheel .. is not a good idea as the rear wheel could be rotated on center stand and mostly rear wheel will result in more or less meter reading and think about the burnouts guys we will have to take the bike for serving in days ... lol

Maybe you are right there, this was just my guess but I am sure the engineers at Mahindra (or EE for that matter) know technically well why this arrangement was preferred (Speedo or Twin Exhaust). This Electrical Speedo system makes all other cable system seem outdated.

A lot goes into R&D, engineering and design by reputed and competent technicians & engineers, all we can just ask is why but cant point fingers at them for something whose background we are not aware of.
