  • Government RTO regulations state that every two wheeler should come with a front number plate and saree guard, that is why they give it even to the R1.
Most of the users get rid of it on Day 1 itself.
I got rid of the saree guard on my R15, since there was no ladies' footrest anyway, so sitting sideways is out of the question for my Mom.
Better have a family bike (I have another one) if you wanna carry family around.
    Quench my thirst with gasoline!

But again, what's harm in having a saree guard. The Ninjettes have one too which is kinda camouflaged, may be something in the same lines will look better here.
      True

But I'm just asking because there are some rules that the Govt. have set. I guess all two-wheeler should come with a saree guard.
Yes its compulsory to have it! Thats why dad didnt allow me to remove it

Guys the date is nearing. Should we meet up before the delivery starts? Maybe even plan a run-in ride?

        • Stig: Mate, one question. How is the stock horn?? Hope it aint puny. And are the gear shifts smoother than other bikes( since you own a ninja)?? And just my 2 cents, didnt you find the mirror stems a little too long as compared to the compact ones on the Ninja? I really find them long.

To rest: Contrary to the black, I find the silver alloys a really refreshing change. The silver and red colors will be hot sellers I bet. They really stand out!

            • ok fellas,
have anyone of you thought of getting an after-market exhaust? Bachhoo motors (xbhp preferred partner) has leo-vince (fullon and slipons).

am not so fan of the stock sound.

And I really get when someone wants to change to all AM parts, the moment they get the bike in hand even before even the warranty expires. And the bike on question is not even available for sale!!!

Does the warranty get void if you change the exhaust? And how much do you speculate the warranty period of CBR to be?

The tastes varies from buyer to buyer, but haan, I agree, the Red-Silver will be the seller, something like the flagship colour like Ninja's green. Black will blend in easily, and in Bangalore, where theft is on the rise, I am thinking of Black model to blend in with the city. Plus black alloys will make it even more subtle...
                  Cheers!!!

                      Precisely.

Ok, customizing is personal choice, but then, why customize before the warranty period expires is my question.

For example, certain GS150R's in the first lot had issues with cylinder & when owners had reported issues with drop in pickup & increased noise etc, Suzuki India replaced them quietly. Had any of the GS150R owner customized, manufacturer will only find excuses to evade from taking a blame on them.

Aargee and Hunk. bros, am neither an admirer of AM mods. But, perhaps your enthusiasm might die down a bit, when you find a meeky four stroke sound emanating from the exhaust, just like a grown up UNI. you would certainly not like that. I wont! hence i asked in this forum. And certainly, if i were to ever do this in my bike, it would be post free service/ warranty period.

                          thanks,

                          • I wouldn't like a loud exhaust sound in my bike while doing long rides. I would prefer a silent exhaust.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

I saw Yoshimura exhausts in one of the pictures. But none of the big companies viz Yoshimura, Akropovic, 2 brothers have mentioned the bike on their sites. I visited Bachhoo last week and he was mentioning that he would get Leo -vince, but I am not sure that they would be compatiable or not?

Can any one throw some more light on this? Even I hate stock sounds, definitely from a quarter letre single cylinder.
I ride in just 2 weather conditions...

                              • This is what a CBR 250R owner from Thailand had to say after riding it for 3 months / 7,000 kms.

Great fun, nimble bike, puts a smile on my face every day.

But I'm starting to feel the lack of smoothness of the single cylinder compared to that of a twin.

Low end grunt is great. Power starts at 5000rpm and cruising in 6th gear @ 6000rpm is 100kmph. This is very light cruising with zero engine strain.

I've seen 153kph on the clock but haven't really gone for a speed run. Cruising at 125kph is good, pull back and it'll shoot you up into the high 130s in no time. 5th gear redlines at around 143kph but it will bog when you slip it into 6th.

Pulling back in 4th and keeping it there until 10000rpm before doing the same in 5th will put a smile on anyone's dial.

                                You'll see 138+kph very quickly.

Is great 2-up with the missus on the back, due to the low-mid end torque. Is stable as anything at highspeeds. Really is a great, fun bike. Is light enough to fling around the twisties when out having fun.

I do notice that single cylinder though, can't compete with a twin for smoothness. Everything else is a ninja beater for me though.
