4.5 lakhOriginally posted by maheshkmr View PostIt is not like that. Ninja parts are very expensive. Morethan the vehicles cost. Rear alloy alone costs 26 k. Single rear view mirror is around 2.8 k. Tank is around 40 k and the exhaust is over 50k. One of my friends ninja crashed (around 50% damage) and he got an estimate of 4.5 lacs.
Though I can get a ninja I dint take the step for this particular reason, In a place where roads are full of 3 wheeled suicide machines and maniac bus drivers, You some or the other way damage your bike, You park your bike and people take pleasure in sitting on your bike even if it leads to a fall resulting in damaging the bike. They really don't care.
So, I decided to get a P220 for time being and now getting the CBR because it can easily handle all my requirements. A couple of years down the line and a 1000cc will be in my garage.

There was no sarcasm in my post. If you read with a clear and open mind, you will notice it. Instead, you were too critic. If you feel you are too intelligent, I can't help but agree. We all know very well who feels they are intelligent.Originally posted by firen View PostYes its a bit biased since the person, as told by himself, feels that the powerband of all honda's is uninteresting, which is not being questioned here since it is his opinion and i respect that
. Kindly put in an effort to understand what the other people were saying before posting a sarcasm
. I have clearly mentioned that the review was good except for his bias for honda(which again is not being questioned or discussed). Oh and BTW should i also write somthing intelligent with "You need not bother"..

These people are the biggest culprits and on top of that, though it's not your mistake, They blame you if a crash happens. Something of this sort happened to a friend of mine, I was on my 220 behind him. We were riding at around 40-50 kmph as it was a village and we see a girl who was crossing the road so we slowed down to appx 30 kmph. The girl reached the other end and don't know for what reason but she dropped something which was in her hand and started running back (at this point distance between her and our bikes was some 3 meters, no its not a typo error but it was three meters). We tried our best to avoid a collision with the girl but it was of no good as we din't have enough space. Girl fell on the fairing and it broke. Girl had few scratches because of the broken fairing. bike fell and silencer was damaged, stand bent, fairing was screwed, rvm was broken and the worst part, bike fell on my friend's leg. All the villagers came running to hit us and then after shouting and trying to explain them a cop who was present at the spot and was watching the scene came for the rescue.
ALWAYS watchout for dumb idiots on the roads.M800 - 2001 - 5787.Nano 2011 - 5086.Figo 2011 - 518.P220 - 2010 - 5995.CBR 250R - 2011 - 250.sigpic

Took test ride of cbr today...........its awesome...........i observed a mid n high range torque.......it was at 80+kmph with pilllon in 2nd gear...so could hav gone more with single rider as i was revving to its fullest....n with coming upshifts wasnt able to note the speeds at every gear as i was riding at high speeds in traffic
braking was awesome....ts front braking is better than my r15...n obviously rear brake(combined abs) is better.......
looks r not upto mark......can be better n alloys hav only option of silver color...wtf.....n also the sound seems like of a 150 cc machine....
but performance wise n price wise n availability of itsspare parts at cheap price...it a very good option.....

Guys!!! Finally the wait is over for me.. I got my red cbr today evening and did around 25kms on it.. So far.. Amazing.. I have a few issues.. But those are only me getting used to.. The bike is all fine.. No oil leak.. Temp ok.. Gearshifts smooth.. Clutch super silk.. Few things i found difficult were the rpm drops very quickly when you clutch..which i find difficult as i use a lot of clutch.. The bike is a delight on potholes..my sis as a pillion said "is this the same road we travel everyday on our pulsar??" takes bad roads with great ease.. Though nose dives a lot.. I dint expect but it does.. Braking is responsive and not over eager as my p180.. Dint take it above 5k rpm as run-in but the bikes character changes after 4k.. Once tempted i just pulled the throttle and the accelaration was more than i expected.. Looks great at night..esp the console.. There was a haar (garland) over the headlight but still the light was decent enough.. (i find pulsars light sufficient and this was definately better) the bike doesnt feel heavy when on it.. And me being just 5'6 the seat height height and leg reach is perfect.. As i still not adapted completely to this new riding position, i felt a slight pressure on my right palm.. But it was just on the right palm.. So would chech for alingnment tommorow..more impressions tommorow as i would be spendind my whole day with and for it tomorrow..
You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

I believe even in thailand bike didn't complete the 20k thing. So, what to say. Who said honda accepted it and working towards? No source except a anonymous person. Ah, it doesn't make any change more than a rumor.Originally posted by shadabk01 View PostMy personal opinion is that HONDA is never going to release a press note or statement saying that they are going to look into the quality issues and rectify them because by saying this HONDA will accept that there are issues with the CBR and may cause a huge dent to their image plus may cause lots of people to go in cancellation mode (although it might still happen because of the ever extending waiting period).
We have not seen any negative comments on the CBR (related to quality, fit and finish) in international market and HONDA will never play around with their image of a top class quality provider by releasing such statements in our country because it can impact their global image as well.
We should be happy enough that HONDA has accepted that there are quality issues (if the news is true) and are working towards resolving them but expecting an official statement in too much in my view.
Sounds like good ideaOriginally posted by arjun0070 View Postbuy an extended warranty of another 3 years
which will make the total warranty period of 5 years or 30000kms

. But on serious note, i don't believe this news of problem and the other news of resolving issues by honda. And even big confirm news is that dealers don't even have any idea how many free services they will provide with bike and neither about any warranty at least here in Jaipur
WELL went to Bajaj probiking today, checked ninja. Both colors were available and looking good. Bike is really big and gives actual feel of international SBK somewhat. Staff was really responsive and treatment was just a CAR buyer can get at CAR showroom, VIP
. Bike was ready for delivery in a day.
Still thinking.... what to do ? When i asked from a staff person about his personal review on CBR. HE said, it looks good but no bike can be perfect. Ninja have same things too. Than he asked, you will go for finance or take it on cash. I said on cash only, than his answer was, think 10 times than before buying this. Strange...!!!!Last edited by vikyk; 05-10-2011, 02:05 AM."Pain is temporary , pride is forever"
