Got a call from Silicon Honda on Saturday. They said they had a Red Std model, but I had booked black. So I rejected the offer made.
But he assured me that a Black Std model is in transit and will be arriving on 27 or 28th may.
SO I can expect my CBR around first week of June.
fingers crossed.

My dealer in Goa finally received his 1st display CBR the bike looks great.. When i asked the manager about deliveries he said by this week, but he disappointed me when he told me that he would be receiving 3 bike all red. My heart just borke there
as i have booked a black bike and when i asked his when he would be receiving a Black bike he said ebd of june. My booking number was 3 on his list. I confronted his as to how could he make a mistake in his order. He explained that he had not checked the colour and assumed that the 1st 3 bikes were red. My dad and bro told me to take the red bike as the colour doesnt matter along as i get my bike. The point is why do we alway have to compromise. But i could wait so i agreed for a red CBR. For so long i dreamt of a black CBR now i'll be riding a flaming red one
. Just cant wait to get mine

@vijaydutt
I too called silicon honda to confirm the status and they said that I will get it by may end or june first week. BTW.. my booking number is 18 and I booked a red std.
I hope this.. 'may end or june first week' is not a standard response given to everyone who calls up for an update.

To all those taking deliveries, please note a few things:
1. The chain is well lubed/oiled. My bike's chain was not oiled(not enough I think).
2. Make sure there are no visible scratches on the fairings, esp when it comes to the bottom part of the fairings.
3. See that the mirror can be moved slightly, else if by chance, when you move through traffic, if the mirror is too tight, it can even damage the front fairing/cowling section.
4. I dont know if this was only me, but do check for instrumentation panel scratches.
5. Always make sure you have more than 4 liters of fuel all the time, lest you want the FI pump to damage the engine. The first thing you should do after getting delivery of the bike, is to tank up.
6. DO NOT WASH YOUR BIKE/WIPE DUST OFF with ordinary cloth. Make sure you buy micro-fibre cloth or chamois leather for wiping/washing/waxing. This bike is very very very prone to scratches.
7. Do buy a tank pad if possible, mostly the tank part which comes in contact with your inseam are very prone to scratches. For people in Bangalore, if you dont have time to buy online tank pads, I suggest you go for Keiti tank pads from Orion Motors. But do get it.
8. And at the time of delivery, do look for abnormal gaps in the fairings, it would most probably be because the layered fairings were not locked properly. Ask them to open it in front of you and fix it properly.

Also came to know from one of my colleague when I was in Naroda, Gujarat. Honda has one more manufacturing division opened and they are full fledge there. Honda has planned to deliver bikes to the dealers ASAP. Quality is also being taken care. My colleague's friend is working in that plant informed him about this. Now don't ask me for the source. It was told by my colleague.Yamaha Enticer: 2003 - SOLD

Is it so??Originally posted by vijaydutt View PostAlso came to know from one of my colleague when I was in Naroda, Gujarat. AFAIK, the new plant which is in Rajasthan will start its operations from August 2011.
But if your news it true, it's really a good news for those who are eagerly waiting for their bikes.

It is a bike you are buying with a lot of money for certain expectations and someone else should not be the chooser for their own benefits.
Please wait for the black CBR if that is what you wished for.You never know when you would go for your next bike.Hell's Angel

Friend,
Please do not forget the fact that Inspite of all the success bajaj/tvs has they are mere Followers.
To lead the market you need Solid Research Now that Honda has baked a New niche- made in India Cake called "250cc", now bajaj/KTM wants a piece of it, mee too strategy.
If they had enough foresight can you tell me What amount of research is required to make a 220 cc bike to a 250 cc bike
Ninja has managed to celebrate 1000 Bikes after so long while honda has managed to get 4000 bookings even before the bike arrived the showroom.
Now if bajaj wants a few scraps from it, they can have it in the name of so called "handling wala pulsar bike"
I want to know how often does one ride to work/liesure that honda shows in Ads and how often do you do wheelies and stoppies as what bajaj claims.
The decison is all upto you,
I believe that honda has had teething problems but there are here in the Indian market for a Big Bite.
Riding is not about "How fast you can go",
it is all about "How you can go fast"
