      @All...

I guess we still don't have a clue as to whether Honda will bring this to India, but we can make some safe assumptions here.

Going by Honda's plan with the new CBR 250, and the way they intend to relaize volumes in India (going by it's supposed pricing), and also considering the fact that the Honda biggies have been available here officially for a considerable period of time now, logistically Honda shouldn't have too many obstacles to bring this beauty in.

I'm not well versed regarding the homologation procedures, and what steps and obstacles they might have to go through. But I believe that if their intent is strong, they'll find a way, especially since they'll soon be having a presence in India, at both ends of the power spectrum...i.e, the 250cc and 1000cc machines.

As of now, we can just keep our fingers crossed. But based on the way things have recently been moving in the motorcycle arena in our country.....good times seem to be here finally. So I wont be surprised if Honda makes some interesting announcements for us enthusiasts.

My initial reactions are very positive.
It seems to exactly the bike I dreamt of: Sporty riding position, sporty looks, but torquey engine and more practical setup than supersports.

Would love to have it in India.
But again, let's not forget that Honda took years to show us a proper 250 - and THAT TOO IS NOT HERE YET.

One question though- does anyone feel like the "CBR" brand is getting softer/ diluted, etc.? After the announcements of single cylinder CBR 250 and this Hornet..?

what is everyone so excited about?

              "immense prospects in India"
"Honda hasn't made any announcements for India yet"
"it's just a matter of time"
              LOL
              Regardless, Life shall go on.

well... with the Hyosung 650R here...
and the Kawasaki 650R on the way...

it would kinda make sense for honda to bring this bike here.
                .

hyusong 650gtr or kawasaki 650 r or now the honda baby dam confusing

Liquid-cooled 4-stroke 16-valve DOHC inline-4" thats what it says and both others i.e the hyusong is a v twin.........inline means its gonna cross 5 lac band and would be more expensive than the other two......if thats the case , i will stick to the hyusong

+1 but what the hell, poor commoners like us would still like to flaunt that "I ride a CBR"

Would disappointing news be considered as 'good' info?

I highly doubt this coming to India.
Why would Honda the leech bring this in India where it can attract a bigger margin in selling the blade and the VFR .... If you can strecth for 6-7Lakhs it would rather make you stretch for 9-11L! Social service - I dont think so.

I expect a totally new player to bring in the smaller machines. Kawasaki is definitely the BEST bet in this context!

                          Not interested in the 650R.

And do you think Honda would be sitting ducks with manufacturers coming up with their soft 600's?

They wouldn't but this seems to be in a different league altogether, inline 4 more than 100 horses and i'm sure it can be priced anywhere near to the other two and it cant be considered as a direct competition to them, but if they do it nothing like it

I dont think Kawasaki would want to sell an 'old' bike in India... I guess the recently unvieled 750R is more like it!!!!

Q: India did have bikes upto 225CCs right, did that make the age 150s a sitting duck?
Ans: A Big Fat Japanese NO!

                              Edit:
                              Look at it this way...
A 250 priced at 1.5L.. Sell many, earn many
A 1000 priced at 9L.. Sell Few, earn many
A 1000 priced at 12L.. Sell few, earn many

Where do you think this 600 can fit!
Most logical folks would say: Kill the 9L 1000CC CBF and get this here at 6-7-8Ls

Now think its impact on the bigger thousand! and think like a stubborn japanese old man!
