even the LPG is expensive ! seriously...one should think of a CNG kit on a bike...lol
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

62.5 in Hyderabad. I am going to minimize the riding and start walking for small distances and stop unnecessary trips. This is the only way to reduce the fuel bills.

I would like to now hear from the people who were going around telling people: "I don't care about FE..." . People who don't care now, will do, if the prices rise by another 50.

Until now, people were happily redlining their tachos and ripping their bikes. Who was paying for all the fuel for that irresponsible riding? Partly the consumer and the rest - other citizens paying through their taxes. I would always prefer that each one pays for his/her fuel consumption and not expect others to pay for it.

The only way to control spending habits is to make people pay. This is true for every country in the world.

I also want that the government deregulates the price of diesel. There are too many private diesel cars around.

I also would like to question the R&D of Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki. Their never seem to focus on making their engines fuel-efficient. If a 1.3L engine car can go for 18kms on a litre of petrol, then why does a 250cc engine have to go only 20kms on the same amount of oil. I heard that Hayabusa switches off its cylinders when its not required. Why can't such innovations be implemented in lower capacity bikes? Should a fun-bike always be a gas-guzzler?

              Swaminomics

Swaminathan S. Anklesaria Aiyar, in his column in the TOI had said that people should be prepared to face an oil price of $200/barrel.

He said that with the rising economies of Asian countries and US going to re-bound from its recession, the prices of fuel are only going to go north.

Yesterday while going home from office (Total 20 Kms travel) I pass through 5-6 petrol pumps, but there was not a huge rush in any of the pumps, even BP was functioning as usual, I did not know whether BP increased rates or not, as i did not go inside. Usually when a price rise is going to happen people rush to pump to fill their bike, and taking advantage of this pump owners put up NO STOCK boards till the time comes when price raise will be implemented, but yesterday did not observe any abnormal thing, but fuelled my bike for 300 bucks 5.22 Litres @ 57.48/ per litre. Though total savings will be only about 15 Rs, still something saved, As now my daily travel is 40 Kms dont have much delay in refuelling, earlier my daily travel was only 8 Kms as i was in a small city with office very near to home, at that time once during price hike I fuelled my bike before the price hike and it was almost 1.5 months after the price hike that I went to petrol pump to fuel again.

What? How did you get to that conclusion? I more fuel I buy! the more taxes I pay! taxes goto central and state govt!

All that technology comes at a price! Since 99% of bikes sold in India are single cylinder so most multi cylinder tech wont apply :P Also extracting 40-50kms a litre is amazing if you think of it.

PS: Honda says the avg of the new CBR250 is around 50 :P

Currently, it's 1.62 euros per liter on average. That's about 97 rupees per liter.

Considering that more than half of the petrol price in NL is goverment tax and levies, you should be surprise it's not more like Rs200/L.

And the Saudis are sitting on the oil, obviously they get it for cheap.
