I still maintain a sub 5L OTR price and we have a winner in the long term. Remember you could still take the buyers on ride with the spares and service!

I thought news were last year some month, then the lull, and then the video and then the green flash! I hope it comes soon. June is decent time. Before I end up draining my bank account and invest whatever remains in the all time low stock market I hope they start booking atleast!Originally posted by payeng View Post
internationally comes with and without ABS version... here... may be they would, may be they wouldnt...Originally posted by coolboy007 View Post
The GT is no Gods gift to mankind that bajaj HAS to use it as a benchmark.....! For all you know if that happens, Hyosung would change the further lower the pricing... (and that can happen for sure!)Originally posted by melroyal View Post

A sub 5L OTR according to me is just not possible, Bajaj hardly cares about huge sales numbers for Kawasaki. Had that been a case, 250R prices would have dropped as it sells in meagre number but its not happening, they are keeping that premium image.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostI still maintain a sub 5L OTR price and we have a winner in the long term. Bajaj would keep the Hyosung prices in mind and launch the 650R, i just dont like the riding stance else the Kawasaki is a looker and that pretty much sums it. 250R is a great machine so am expecting the same from it, smooth, vibe free performance
Regarding spares - the Kawasaki spares are already at astronomical prices. Its a 650 and services would cost a bomb

Lets not discuss possibilties here please... what makes it impossible?
Somewhere in this thread we had a logic explaining why.... and to repeat, Bajaj always harped on the fact that the bikes are priced as per thier UK rates. So it turns out 3.1 OTR in India, and about 4.5L OTR for the 650.
Hyosung is NOTHING in front of Kawasaki! Naada! Not even worth of being compared. The GT650 is an amazing product in its own, AND is overpriced, especially considering that parts of it are being assembled here!
As far as dropping the cost for 250 is concerned, dropping it now makes little sense (and trust me, they might still do a small cut here and there) BUT the 650 is a different breed of machine altogether! Comparing thes two are like comparing the R15 with the P220.
Edit: the Er6f does not have a sporty stance.... (I would personally LOVE the Versys, but that JUST wont sell in India) so the er6f (and may be n in later days) makes bloody good business sense!Last edited by satyenpoojary; 05-10-2011, 02:24 AM.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

and the OTR price too?Originally posted by melroyal View PostThat's BAD!!
It would be nice if it had the handling and performance characters of a Ninja ZX.
954 for sale!?!Originally posted by bikefreak View PostSpoke to a probiking showroom guy. He is of the opinion that it would be launched only by Diwali/Dussera !!!!!
He said "This is not the season to launch bikes, with the rains round the corner" !!
at 4.5 lac... Hyosung will have no choice but to drop the price of the GT650R.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostBajaj always harped on the fact that the bikes are priced as per thier UK rates... 4.5L OTR for the 650.
or maybe just launch the naked H650R at 4 lac.

I do not own Ninja 250 but I have ridden it for few kms. I found it to be extremely good for high speed cruising as one of its qualities. It has a very relaxed engine at high speeds. I would like to believe that 650R will be near perfect for highway cruising especially with its normal one piece handle bar and a more upright riding position. It's also a parallel twin so it will have ample power for high speed riding considering 250R's capabilities being a 250cc machine. Quality wise it will be better too so I am really looking forward to this bike. Considering riding conditions in India, 650R is an extremely good decision.Last edited by Satellite.kid; 05-10-2011, 03:14 AM.The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

Agreed.Kawasaki selling Ninja 650R for sub 5 Lacs not possible.Originally posted by coolboy007 View PostA sub 5L OTR according to me is just not possible, Bajaj hardly cares about huge sales numbers for Kawasaki. When you consider the Ninja 250R sells for 3Lacs plus when Honda is selling the CBR 250R for half that of Kawasaki price.

u're comparing a (locally manufactured) honda product with a kawasaki.Originally posted by melroyal View PostWhen you consider the Ninja 250R sells for 3Lacs plus when Honda is selling the CBR 250R for half that of Kawasaki price.
the N250R is miles ahead of the CBR250R in build quality.
(there are zero people who would disagree with that fact.)
and since this is the Ninja 650R thread... i'll come back to the topic.
scroll up a bit...Originally posted by melroyal View PostKawasaki selling Ninja 650R for sub 5 Lacs not possible.
the OTR price of the Ninja 250R in the UK is 3.1 lac.
the OTR price of the Ninja 650R in the UK is 4.5 lac.
so... if Bajaj want to price it below 5 lac... they very well can.
and if you ask me... i think they prolly will..

Quoting myself from earlier on the thread.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I think it makes a lot of sense for Kawasaki to price 650R below 5 lakhs.. they will have enough room to fit in ZX-6R & Z750 before ZX-10R launch.. of course that's a very long term view!!Originally posted by xionite View Post

^Add RC8 to that list
They will house a most potent product line if they do that and can undercut icnoinc brands like HD and Ducati.
PS: Why isnt anyone getting the delivery of the GT650? Do they want to be 'fair' to the customers by giving delivery in June?Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Agree satyen,it would have been fair for the customer to make a decision when both the co's bikes are present.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostPS: Why isnt anyone getting the delivery of the GT650? Do they want to be 'fair' to the customers by giving delivery in June?
Garware Motors have started the booking in April but only giving delivery in June. Why? don't know or probably a strategic planning.
