hmmm...so this is what happened. U know that we like you so much that would not let anything happen to youOriginally posted by pp180 View PostI bet you on that bro , I will take a TD will all that stuff on
.
I don't see any point denying a TD now and regrading that Iron-manned thing , you might feel like Iron man with all that stuff but don't look like becoz .
1. Jacket looks good ( no issues in wearing a jacket)
2. kneed Guard worn inside jeans ( they are hidden now)
3. Glove ( safety comes first )
4. boots ( with normal jean they are kind of stealth , doesn't stand out much)
After all this is the stuff which i would always be wearing during my morning rides.
Does any body think this is too much for a 650CC (70bhp) machine. My understanding is nobody is going to ride these bikes slow but of course a Mature rider would slowly build his confidence on bike and about it's abilities and will gradually start riding it fast , So at this point safety is my prime concern and i made it a point to gear up myself as much as possible without making me uncomfortable.
Your safety is my priority dude and will explain you further when we meet
Lets fix up another meeting and i will personally attend you this time
And by the way, congrats for the riding gear, some of it sound exciting, would love to see it.
Ride Safe

+1.Originally posted by neil.jericho View PostI am genuinely happy to see a showroom refuse a TD because a potential customer came in wearing sandals. Its good to see a high level of maturity shown by the dealership & I do hope they continue to maintain their standards.
Hope to see more and more dealers accepting such trends.

The first time I went to Garware showroom after they had started the test rides, I was similarly dressed. And since I was not wearing shoes either, I myself did not ask for any test ride that day. I didn't want the fact that I was not wearing shoes to hamper my first ever ride on a 500cc+ bike. So, I told them that I won't, in fact, be taking a test ride in the middle of all that 'heart of the city' traffic. I left them with my no. and a request that they may call me if they arrange a test ride outside city limitsOriginally posted by pp180 View PostI had some work in Gurgaon and after completing my work i Went to Gurgaon Showroom today for test ride of GT but I was wearing sandals and was refused a test ride without shoes due to safety reason
, I even requested that i won't be revving bike as i am not aware about it's power delivery but i can at least get a feel of bike by riding at 40-50 Km/hrs but still they refused politely. I know the importance of proper riding gears , I am still planning to Buy a sportbike but i already bought Jacket from DSG (2 weeks back and it's still packed) , already ordered for Gloves and Knee guard from STG (which my friend will carry from US).
I have no issues with it , it there product and it all depends on them how they wanna sell it and whom they wanna sell it but i don't understand there safety concern in a simple ride of 1-2 km at 40-50 km/hrs speed .
Now I will wait from Ninja or till a new Garware dealership opens in DELHI.
I guess GT is not my destiny

Such a test ride was arranged (around 5 days later) and when I did show up, I was in my regular riding gear.. (Helmet, Jacket, Gloves, Woodland shoes) So, if there was one thing I was concentrating on, It was the ride.
In effect, I would say that it was actually good for you that you did not get to ride that day. Now you can go back prepared and will be able to concentrate on the one thing that you should on a Test Ride.

I don't think, any company anywhere would be providing you gear to do a test ride, because the fitting of the gear is paramount to your safety. You might get some gears which are of general fit, but most are not.
The people at Radiant Lifestyle did not offer you a test ride because you were in sandals, it was more so because, on both the ST7 and GT650R, the foot controls are placed in a manner that riding the bikes in sandals would have surely distracted you while operating the foot controls and operating them while in sandals would have surely cause your foot to slip of the pegs (and I'm sure that would have happened). So, even if you are riding at 40-50 kmph, that's not even in picture when you are not able concentrate on your riding and concentrating more as to how your foot is operating.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post1. I would regard a safe speed as 5 kmph. At this speed, at the best, my balls would be hurt against the tank slightly, that's it.
2. I agree with those Garware people. I suggest that you get all geared up and try test riding again. Actually, I tell you, all they want is less posers and more serious prospective customers. Presence of gears is probably a filter for them to identify true customers. All this time, they knew you won't crash the bike.I still don't agree will some of the commentsOriginally posted by shift_ride View PostBrother!!Think like a rider!!wear shoes nd try it again!!!

But one thing for sure next time i am going to visit Garware hyosung showroom ( or may be bajaj for Ninja 650) i won't miss to carry .

4. Boots ( yet to decide model )
I reserved a budget of 40-50 K alone for quality riding gears only , I know there benefits and once my gears list is complete only then i was going to ride my bike (this whole thing was always in my mind and it's not this Garware TD incident which prompted me to think about buying all these gears
)
Till then I have to wait to feel the vibes of V-twin.

Happy to read that at-least garware is not giving test rides without proper riding gear. Otherwise just walk into a HH, Bajaj, Yamaha or TVS showroom and they will give u a test ride. It just dont matter if ur wearing a armani or a Dhoti. They always have a odd-looking-weard-fitting 100 Rupee helmet for "safety"Originally posted by pp180 View PostI had some work in Gurgaon and after completing my work i Went to Gurgaon Showroom today for test ride of GT but I was wearing sandals and was refused a test ride without shoes due to safety reason

My two cents on your experience with Gurgaon Hyosung Dealership -Originally posted by pp180 View PostAgreed Vishwas,
I have no issues with there safety confern but If they are so much concerned about rider safety then they should also keep at least a pair of quality gloves for TD . Knee Guard , Elbow guard sounds too much but i expect them to provide at least quality gloves to there riders for TD to justify there safety concern.

its you who wants TD and its not a 50CC Luna which ur going to ride ... even if u fall from it @ standstill .. u'll get hurt royally
i want every showroom irrespective of bike CC should adopt this policy .. its all about responsibility and safe riding .. i am impressed and happy that Garware is seriously taking biking in good way
Now Hop in to ur show .. get a TD

don;t feel insulted with there reply ... take it in +ve way ... and report us back ur experience with the bike
OT: i ride R15 ..and i won't ride bike if i don;t wear shoe.. i never ride with slippers and i never ridden till now .. its safety and respect which ur giving to your bike

Agreed Vishwas,Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostWelcome to colour appreciation thread.
As you have no issues with Garware's decision about their product and about how they want to sale it and to whom, you should have no issues with their safety confern. It is a company's prerogative to decide basic requirements for test rides.
