    I am not at all against GT650. However, anyone who has seen that bike up close can vouch that it will not last beyond couple of years. The installed parts are cheap and look cheaper. VFM works when the VALUE you are getting out of the product is more than the MONEY you are paying. Here it is not.

    I did not feel any shot hitting me. GT could had been a very good product but it is not and certainly not VFM. That is what the discussion about.

    The Triumph Daytona is supposed to go for a refresh in 2013, so I hope Triumph India gets the new one homologated and not the old one.

    Arey bhai, he meant Supersports 600. Means around 600cc bikes with power hovering around 120 bhp or so...
    The 2 bikes you mentioned don't touch even 75 bhp. Getting me? They're Sporty tourers, not race replicas.

    I Welcome Daytona & above all, Triumph with both hands...
    Remember someone purchased a Grey market R6 for 8 Lacs or so (in 2007-08)... Now you're getting a legal High performance 600 for around 7 Lacs. Triumph bringing in the Good times!!

    Just hope they keep more & more service centres for the future and good service quality too...

    You are not alone in that case.

    But I am not only salivating............but already trying to simulate how it would feel like riding and owning one on my usual street bike

    It seems like Triumph is going to be the best selling European as well as premium bike maker in India.I am so glad that this iconic company is making plans to make so many youngsters happy in India.

    Yes, These are the official pricing announced by Triumph at AE 2012.Always lurked for a bike within 6 lakhs, to be precise I4 in this budget but outcome was always a second hand bike But after listening to the price i can see my dream come true of owning SBK within a year or so though not a I4 but sounds like I4.

    Time to start saving and lots of convincing at home.



    P.S Is it official pricing or speculated. I don't think that daytona's price is correct.

    I assume the above prices are Ex showroom Delhi and by the time Daytona reaches Mumbai it will be OTR almost 7.75Lakhs Approx but the bike is still worth it unless Honda brings in CBR600F at a lower cost than this.

    I totally agree with you. But in current circumstances, Hyousung and GM are doing quite well, I don't feel GT650 deserves to be bashed. I'm amazed that an Iconic brand with rich heritage sold a ~1.60 lakh bike and it's engine got seized in run-in period, I haven't heard of any GT650R performing THAT well.

    Actually I'm against comparing the two bikes & as I said before, I don't feel GT650 deserves to be bashed. Most of the Indian bikes have quality issues.

    Things change so fast, a few months back Every Toms, Hairy, Dick was uploading articles and asking for votes to be branded as True Wanderer to get a free Non Valuable Brand\Quality bike. And now just because there are more options dissing at it.

    Like it or not, and I say this as a Ninja 650R owner
    1 - The GT650R, and GT650N are the ONLY products in the VFM 500+ cc category
    2 - The Ninja 650R (2011) is no longer a product being sold so it has one category - The Extinct category
    3 - The Ninja 650R (2012) is yet to be launched, if its launched at the same price point or is replaced totally then my point 2 is confirmed, and I would love to hate BAL-Kawasaki more than anything as it would mean even more lag in supply of spares etc

    Having said that I would not buy the Hyosung for its novelty or brand, I would buy it for a different reason

    I would probably love to own a Triumph for the reasons (just like) abhimanyu said!

    That asides, the Daytona 675 is a new category both in India and internationally. An extra cylinder or the lack of it has its edge over an i4 or a twin for a bike of the same capacity.

    PS: the royal enfield c500 is the most VFM 500cc bike in the market.
    (Category is a cluster, ONE machine does not make a category)
