No idea.. but even the tweaked R15's used in the National Road Racing Championships have their full fairing removed.
Full fairings looks cool though.. at least to the majority.

Stripping it for racing is a different thing altogether.... the approach there is fundamentally to strike a balance between wind resistence - weight reduction.

      Coming back to the point:
      Does full fairing help -
Yes - It helps in following
      - Minimizing the wind resistance,
      - Controling\Channeling air flow

Most racing bikes have a proper wind tunnel tested fairings.
Most touring bikes are semi faired to reduce the wind blast at the rider.

Does the fairing help on the ZMR... Yes, if you want to use it like a sail boat!

IF and IF Bajaj uses a full fairing, I hope they make a streetfighter version of the bike too!

Apparently our bikes are not fast enough (for our national racers) for a full fairing to really make a difference.. even on the race track.

Remove the stock R15's fairing and see how much topspeed it hits!

            Their funda is simple
Weight reduction > Power difference for the Indian macho racers!

Having said that heres Ten10 racings R15

Ironically that's also the story how Streetfighters came into existence.

Back in the 80's European bikers with faired sports bikes started removing the full fairings and installed taller handle bars.. but the difference was that they did it so that the bikes became "Stunt" friendly.

Slowly bike makers realized that there was a market for something called "Street fighters".

It remains to be seen how much Ducati influence is there in the new Pulsar. As Ducati being Rajiv Bajaj's primary inspiration source.

That's an urban legend.. mybe because the Classic Pulsars have similar lines to the Ducati Monster.. and also maybe because Mr. Bajaj had also thought of Ducati before picking up KTM shares.

The one that had come with me on a ride some 2 years back had some issue and had to ridden without its side fairing. It refused to go beyond 115!!!

That simply means Fairing does help attaining better top speed

Dude, i have done it in past and whatever you are talking about is not entirely true, yes the top speed is affected, but that is hardly 5KMPH. BTW, if you don't believe me there is one video link in youtube, where you can see a drag race between R15 and Old P220, R15 wins and is also without fairing.
