^^ should be all of them at once or may be 150/180 just like the initial launch ten years ago and then 220 after couple of weeks or so, just my wild guess

A Decade ago. 150cc was the Performance Segment. P180 was a step beyond that (being the highest displacement Indian Prod. bike except for the Enfield among its contemporaries). However, times have changed and 150cc has now become the higher end of the COMMUTER segment (with the exception of the R15 ofcourse). On that hunch, we can probably assume that the two new versions would be P180/P200.

What will happnen to dear (really) old avenger, it shares the same engine as 220 and we haven't seen any changes in her outer appearance since it was launched. I am dying to buy a cruiser now (i.e. within 2 lakhs)

There is a huuuuge untapped market for affordable cruisers..

                I've heard somewhere that there will be a 160cc and a 200cc instead of 150/180 cc's.

Actually 160/200/250cc lineup makes more sense.

To compete with 150's P135 is already there. With bigger pulsar's launch a bump in the performance of P135 will be great.
P160 would be the performance leader in Indian 150cc segment. (Excluding the R15 ofcourse)
                    P250 to take on CBR.
P200/220 would fill the gap in between.

A nice clean happy pulsar family.

if the new ones are considerably more refined with better plastics, chassis, brakes etc coupled with right price, I believe Pulsars will be market leader for another decade.

Bingo.. exactly my thoughts.. actually I posted this on some other topic saying that a line-up of P160/200/250 makes a lot more sense at the moment. 220 can be retained as it's already pretty good for what's on offer.
I think P160 can take on R15.. seriously, with 4-valves if the bump in bhp is enough to give it 17.5 (guess 2 bhp bump is not a big deal), then with speculated monoshock, rear-disc & light-weight it can give R15 a tough fight, may not be enough to outclass R15, but will still be good enough to create doubts in buyer's mind.

If P160 comes and takes on R15 then do we really need the current P220? Then how strong the performance of P200 would be ?? Surely it will create doubt on buyers mind

P220/P250 can take on CBR250 properly

Well, my thoughts are for a 17bhp P160/20 bhp P200 & 23-24 bhp P220/250, which can take on R15/CBR250 and others if anything comes in. That way, competition will have very small chance against Pulsars They will have to go back to drawing boards and come up with even better products and that makes all of us winners!!

Think of it, P150 already makes 15ps.. bumping it to 17ps with 4-valves & 160cc is not such a big deal.. already they did it to xcd 135 (11ps to 13ps) and branded it as P135, which is a good success story.

I just hope Bajaj continues with pushing competition harder, so that we get much better products.

Unlike HH, Bajaj was regular with upgrades for Pulsar, even when it's selling very well. Hope, this upgrade will once again set the benchmarks for competition in performance segment.
