During this restructuring period, Suzuki will cease to sell automobiles. The application for this Bankruptcy protection was filed sometime around Oct-Nov, 2012. Its just "approved" now. And this is not affecting Suzuki motorcycles' Sales and parts supply negatively.
By the way, Suzuki US was definitely struggling since last 4-5 years, mostly with cars. Kizashi is almost a failure, maybe due to the fact that its production edition is so so different from the concept that got everyone hooked. Ultimately, practicality wins over imagination.
When your machines get some things wrong, but they retain a USP, they will still sell somehow. But when a USP is absent, you got a big problem, is what I believe.
Suzuki's been for decades, it's just that their 4 wheeler segment is in the back burner as of now, stumbling the growth of the entire company. But as long as motorcycles aren't affected, there is always a sweet spot for us.
I think.
Cheers!

Violate law, get tickets; get 7 tickets, license gets cancelled for a year; per the number of tickets the insurance premium increases; license cancelled...insurance companies even hesitate to renew existing. Without insurance, one cannot ride/drive. Without riding/driving, it's impossible to get around, because the public transport is worst making life even more miserable.
Actually I must have said that ISHTYLE was for Indians not AMREEKANS. I must have made myself a little clear on that one above, though appreciate your effort for the heads up.
Of course, you do your jingalala abroad and you get screwed. I mean, gimme a break, the bike the cops there have. Don't even get me started on that one.

Violate law, get tickets; get "n" (7 times) tickets, license stands cancelled for a year; next year, apply for license with more stringent test by paying more; also one has to attend mandatory riding class (decent enough to pinch one's pocket); also, per the number of tickets, the insurance premium also raises; if license cancelled...insurance companies even hesitate to renew existing. Without insurance, one cannot ride/drive. Without riding/driving, it's impossible to get around, because the public transport is worst making life even more miserable. Too complex!!!Last edited by aargee; 02-14-2013, 06:49 PM.

Where did you read this news? I can't find it anywhere on the internet except at the above link. Even Yamaha website still has it in their product portfolio.
