Well, nice to know Rossi's mother owns a Monster and sometimes pops a wheelie.

The only difference I see between the Monster 796 & 795 are the following!
1) Seat height : 31.5(796) vs 30.3(795)
2) Single sided swingarm(796) vs double sided swingarm(795)
3) 5 spoke(796) vs 3 spoke(795)
4) Front Tyre : 120/70 ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso(796) vs 120/60 ZR 17 Pirelli Angel ST(795)
5) Rear Tyre : 180/55 ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso(796) vs 160/60 ZR 17 Pirelli Angel ST
THAT'S IT!!!
Don't think there will be a serious price reduction!!! Whoever thinks it's going to be around 5-6 lacs may end being very disappointed!

It is not because of these changes the bike would be cheaper.Originally posted by rohitnrock View PostThe only difference I see between the Monster 796 & 795 are the following!

It is because this bike will be assembled in Thailand and then brought to India which will make it cheaper.

Monster fan
Frankly, I have been enamoured by the monster since I first saw it in the bangalore showroom about a month back and everything paled in comparison, at least in the category. The specs of the new Monster aimed at the Asian market haven't been scaled down, but I am disappointed with the tyres, the fat ones looked awesome. and the new handlebar is chromed, a bit odd. I dont think the price will just halve because of anything, but my guess is around 7 lakh which seems possible and still a big cut from the approx. 10 lakh for the 796.
I wouldn't mind paying up for a Ducati, but I hate the fact that I have to pay enough tax which could have bought me another one
...or been the down payment for the upgrade
.
Another related and slightly off-topic question: Do you think this Monster would be a good first big-bike?

Monster 796 was for RM9995 and was for INR 750000 in India byt that logic it means that the Monster 795 priced at RM 5999 should be about INR 450150.075!
