, at least not as much. If you thought the gull wing door was a useless invention, guess why Mercedes used them in their new supercar, the SLS AMG, a few years ago. And they are Germans. Do you know about the suicide doors (which open in opposite directions) in rolls royces? Just an example. According to me, design is an element of functionality and functionality is an element of design.
The earlier wheels and the single sided swingarm of the Monster just looked really nice and separated it from the crowd.
I am planning to buy it some time next year, and I am literally breaking my bones to earn the money.
Don't have the monies to buy the streetfighter or the 848 superbike, and never been to Indian Habitat Center...
Anyone have any idea of the pricing for 848 streetfighter??
now, those two posts by SJ and 46 were good to read. But i would concur with SJ, that those golden alloy exposed nicely by the SSSW will sorely be missed.Ride safe..wear helmet.
Love trance..? you gotta listen to this

the gullwing doors, while being superbly cool, are a bit of an irritant if you are not 6 feet 3 as demonstrated by mr clarkson in top gear.
and am not denying the coolness of the singlesided swingarm. am just saying you can have all that in the other models. just need to spend a bit more money.
if ducati could sell a 796 at 6 lakhs they would have just done that. i will take the double sided swing arm monster, and plonk the saved money on akrapovic/termignoni and merrily have multiple orgasms. thankyouverymuch.
and germans don't get everything right. remember the world war and the pogrom/genocide against the jews.Last edited by sunilg; 11-17-2011, 01:48 PM.

My thoughts exactly, man the Termignonis DO NOT come cheap. the full system (ecu, air filter and exhaust) costs 1L+ for the basic and 1.5L+ for the carbon fibre one, if I am not wrong.
Every country and civilization has some or the other blackspot in their histories. And look at the Germans now and how far they have come from those black days...Originally posted by forty6and germans don't get everything right. remember the world war and the pogrom/genocide against the jews.

respected sir, that is what i have been trying to tell you. what would you prefer a cosmetic single sided swing arm or real weight saving, performance and orgasm giving termignoni and still save enough cash for a kick ass arai or agv simoncelli replica?Originally posted by Siddharth Jodh View Post

all this for a price of a 796?
or like i said if you have more money and still love the strapless bra, go for streetfighter/monster 1100/ 848 evo. it is a good deal dear sir.

Of RBI policies and Ducati economies
I cannot resist the temptation to digress. The RBI measures may seem confused just because it will not have an impact immediately. Unfortunately, inflation will have to be unraveled in a painful (yet effective) way. And it is doing the best it can do in its capacity.Originally posted by forty6 View Postyou are confused dear sir.
As confused as RBI on the measures to control inflation.
Bringing self sufficiency in food production was never its mandate and it cannot be held accountable for the holy mismanagement of agriculture.
And now for some On Topic discussion:
Yes I kind of agree that 795 is a really good buy for someone who wants to own a Ducati, doesn't mind the minor exclusions and doesn't have 20 lac.
Yours truly did the same with the HD 883L. A harley is a harley... then why wait 20years (and then be too old) to be able to afford a fat boy?

Yup, got the same mail a few days ago. Came with the brochure. I don't know if and how I can upload it, but if anyone is interested, you can dig around on Google and will surely find it. Anyway, it mentions three colours, red, white and black with red frame and black wheels. I thought the Monster 795 was launched only in red?? Good thing is it comes in whiteOriginally posted by niks_devil666 View PostI had recvd an email from Ducati on 7 Dec -

... can anyone confirm the colours? even the showroom guys did not have any idea about the other details of the bike (price, colours, availability, etc.). Guess all of us will just have to wait for it to be launched here...

Thailand price
The thailand price of the M795 is 399,990 baht, which works out to around 6.64 lakh INR. Should be around the same price when its launched here, considering Thailand is where it is assembled.
