Higher compression rate is not possible in India. Lets not exaggerate the power output or we will be disappointed like we were with new R15. A 21-22 bhp power output makes more sense.Last edited by lockhrt999; 11-05-2011, 11:14 AM.

^^^IMO 21-22 bhp is very much conservative. Moreover, P220 already does that with a 2-valve engine.. if Duke 200 comes with 21-22 bhp, then I think not too many P220 owners would like to trade their bikes for Duke 200. With a 4-valve engine Duke 200 would likely generate around 24 bhp.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

KTM Duke 200
Gentlemen of the biking world. Please welcome the newest entrant to this forum. I have been glued to this thread on KTM for sometime now. Been googling about KTM for a while now. Glad to know its just around the corner. and I am quite keen to lay my hands on one of them when its released.
I am from/in Bangalore. and one probiking center wasn't too friendly while the other (the owner of which I know in person), I am yet to get to see him in person.

So I went to the showroom to pickup my ninja recently.
The sales person and me started chatting about the duke. He said the power output would be around 25 bhp, and it would cost around 1.5 lac x-showroom and will be launched in December. I don't vouch for him though.
Don't know if he was just estimating. But I thought you guys might be interested in the info.

The KTM Duke 200 will not do anything more than 18Hp. No more speculations.
Got this detail from a Duke 200 brochure which I found with the PBK Manager's possession. I actually went there to check with my N650R Booking status.

it represents 4 things
1. Bajaj made sure that 200 has a decent power and ample scope for mileage [good move as petrol prices are gonna touch 100Rs/- soon
],and in turn it will be a mass product
2. The launch is almost here [next 2 months]
3. The price will not be as high as 1.5Lac .. it might be quite near to R15
4. Duke 350 will have a chance with decent power of near to 25-28hp in future *****

I was actually in the mood to take the brochure with me, But the Manager was trying his best to take my eyes off it,Originally posted by saipranav View Postroflmao!!!

Since I am a Pissed-Off customer tired of inquiring about the 2012 N650R the manager did show some courtesy by handing the brochure to me briefly, But he requested me his best not to let this out side.
Taking a snap was out of question, he was protecting the document like a Cat does a Kitten

That's a strange line to print in brochure.Originally posted by HarishK View PostThe KTM Duke 200 will not do anything more than 18Hp. No more speculations.
