How many people in India know about KTM, do a research and you will know, a small video showing what the bike can do, will do wonders to it and increase curiosity.Originally posted by Biker_RohitThey don't need such publicity stunts (unlike some other makers).

Edit: btw new MRF tires too, the 110/70 and 150/60
short under body silencers are now getting popularity....but indian road conditions is not good for this design i think.

That my friend can be known only after it comes to the "ROAD" but until then why dont you feel good that stuntbike or streetbike is arriving soonOriginally posted by rkakkar View PostKTM looks very much to be a stunt bike or a street fighter like FZ. How good would it be for touring as compared to the 250s or even the R15?

i think they do this because..different states have different atmospheric conditions & they want to test the bike on every condition....
from the reviews on foreign sites...KTM can be used in any worst condition...
they are using the same technology used in Dhakar Rally bikes in their streetbikes

Ironically, the bike which you call stuntbike also has a touring edition- FAZER.Originally posted by rkakkar View PostKTM looks very much to be a stunt bike or a street fighter like FZ. How good would it be for touring as compared to the 250s or even the R15?
When R15/ RTR can be taken for tours, then I'm damn sure a KTM can do the job slightly better only, not any less. It has the essentials covered- good tyres, chassis, weight, etc, etc.
BTW In our country, fast bikes automatically become great tourers.

I think the R15 has a advantage here due to its full fairing and handling part, where the Baby duke is more like someone who wants to tour on straight lines.Originally posted by ZMAtic View PostQuestion
If R15 and KTM 200 are put into contention, Which do you think will be a better hadler? My question is more focussed on cornering.

Difficult to comment without riding the bike.Originally posted by ZMAtic View PostQuestion

Still judging from the design & riding stance:
The R15 has the design and stance of a super sports which means that one needs to take corners by getting his knee down.
The 200 Duke has touches of design inspirations from Supermoto/Off Road bikes. The footpegs on the 200 Duke is rear set but the stance is upright (like a off road/supermoto). Therefore I am assuming that cornering the 200 Duke might call for the "feet forward" technique used on off road/supermoto bikes.
But then the 200 Duke doesn't have that flat seat to slide and transfer the weight like a true supermoto. I am guessing and hoping that KTM would like to keep its off road DNA in the 200 Duke as well.

they say the duke chassis is ultra flick-able though changes has been done to make it more stable for the convenience for new riders as wellOriginally posted by payeng View PostDifficult to comment without riding the bike.

Without doubt, the track-focused R15 will be better at cornering (& track-riding) than the street-focused Duke 200. (I assume you are not looking at corner-entry & corner-exit speeds here, as the extra 50cc could tilt it into the Duke 200's favour).Originally posted by ZMAtic View PostQuestion

On the other hand, the Duke 200 should be a scorcher on the streets (vs. the R15).
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
