  • The two companies have signed a cooperation deal, by which KTM will provide the know-how for joint development of the water-cooled 4-stroke 125 cc and 250 cc engines, and Bajaj will take over the distribution of KTM products in India and some other Southeast Asian nations

    source WIKI...
so does this mean that this bike in pic is 125cc pulsar and next to come is p250:

    • is not that bike too big for a 125 cc?
and the question remains why do i race?

        • Bajaj will launch their all-new Pulsar shortly after the Auto Expo. The platform is all-new and the first motorcycle will probably be the Pulsar 200. This platform will feature a lot of learnings from the development of the KTM and will share some bits as well. We also understand that the bottom of the engine is shared between the Pulsar and the KTM, but the Pulsar will get an aircooled DOHC 4-valve engine, probably with twin park plugs. Similarly, on the chassis front, the Pulsar will use more traditional elements to keep the price low. We are expecting Bajaj to announce the Pulsar 200 prices in the Rs 90,000 range. As to KTM, Stefan Pierer had announced in Europe earlier that a KTM Duke 350 was due end-2012 or 2013. This motorcycle will probably be the second KTM to come to the country. It's too early to talk prices, but Rs 1.8 lakh is where we would peg the price for that motorcycle.

source overdrive...so p200 almost certain, may be they'll turn p200 into naked monster like duke 200 with lower price tag..

          • Guys.. Guys!!

Its 125 cc or 150 cc or 200 cc or 150 cc...?
            Oil cooled or Air cooled?
            Will handle better?
& the rider show three fingers....
            etc etc...

            R we speculating too much?
Now take a break! 30th Jan is not far away...

Rather speculating & arguing on each other, is it not wise to just sit, relax & wait for what Bajaj is bringing for us...???

            • I guess a few points are almost confirmed;
1)those tiny segment-defining cubic capacity increments will be gone for good.(135,150,180,220etc)and only about 2 versions should remain.
2)This will be and remain a new groundbreakingdesign language for pulsar.
3)We will miss the 220's fairing and street looks
4)It will put an end to those infamous quality niggles which used to scare us at some point in time
5)If its speculated so much,it'd possibly be a torquey 200 and 220 or 250 might not materialize atleast in near future

                • i am gonna miss the semi-faired 220.naked definitely implies practicality with in city riding condition.but those semi fairing housing twin projector still makes me stop and give it a second glance.for me its time for bajaj to upgrade 150 and 180 more than bringing in a 200 cc with 90k+ price tag.someone here said they have stopped production of 220.they are replacing it 200 cc,justified.p135 is relatively new 4 valve tech machine,if it remains untouched that is also justified.but if those 150 180 twins remain the same, bahut na insafi hai

Hey bro, lets not jump into conclusions, no one has conformed the news of the 220 stopped being produced. So lets just wait and see how things unfold.

                    • but if the speculated one turns out to be a 200 cc then no point of keeping 220.prices will be close.with the aid of ktm engine this 200 cc will churn out bhp figure close to the existing 220.this 200 being lighter in weight will have better power to weight ratio and it will also offer better fe figure.people will opt for better looking, new generation ,feature packed 200 cc.am i thinking to much?

'IF' , that's the big thing there, if its a 200. So till then we can never be sure. Sure, if it comes it may threaten the sales of 220, but in my opinion 220 will never lose its presence in the market,i may be wrong ,but its just my opinion.

Earlier the 200 and 220 did co-exist ,i agree not for long and it does make sense, they cut the production of 200,it disappointed many, it was considered the best looking bike from bajaj, stunters loved it, there was high demand, maybe they did that because they were planning a new 200,if it is the case they did take their sweet time for it.and also to boost the sales of 220.

even i m gonna miss the semi-faired P220, and i being a fan of faired bikes, want atleast the top of the line pulsar to be faired/semifaired. but that seems far fetched, as BAL is under the heavy dose of KTM it seems..

remember there used to be 200 & 220 earlier, so might be that now it will be 200 + 250.

Hey bro the spied one IS NOT CONFIRMED that its a 200Cc. Things you've seeing is just rumors and speculations.
Do not jump in to finish line.

And about P15,p180 and all, It will be replaced by newer avatars.
I do not think Bajaj will touch only 200-250 segment. All variants will be revamped.
                              Hope for the best.

Yea may be a 135. As it's got KTM's engine, surely it will out perform current 150Cc's. Developing about 15 bhp....!
