  • Visited the showroom last evening at Kanjurmarg, Mumbai. My observations:
    - Looks: Bike looks compact and neat, Full marks !
    - Plastic quality and instrument cluster: Is very good but for some areas where there are small protrusions
    - Engine noise: Sounds like a winner, smooth and seems very rev - happy
    - Exhaust note: Sounds like 100 wala crackers, dint like it a bit
    - Suspension: Rear is too spongy, reminded me of the "impulse" - Personally not a fan of soft suspension
    - Price: 1.33 OTR Mumbai. Definitely worth it !

But the guy at the showroom said the waiting period is 90 days and even if you book the bike now, the final amount payable would be whatever it is worth after 90 days. Why is it so ? It is very disappointing
Young riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !

      • I saw a guy riding the Duke yesterday evening here in Ahmedabad. Now that i am reading this thread, the bookings will start later on... but maybe these guys are giving test rides!
One thing for sure, the riding stance is very relaxed akin to that of ZMA. Should be a very fun bike to ride!

Is possible but to what extent not sure

Yes and no. I do a lot of offroading but never faced any issues but developed a bend in the rim while a big pothole inside the city.So a risk is always there

The riding posture is very upright

              • Lots of folks will be wanting to ride this offroads and maybe even take it to ladakh.
Given the height and the angle of the exhaust do you think it will survive the water crossings and slush?
Of course that is if you get around the 10ltr tank capacity.

when can we expect a full review of the bike, as the only thing I am concerned about is mileage of the bike. Anything below 25 and I will have to buy cbr.

One more question, ktm offers these varieties of after market sprockets. So if we consider that the mileage of the bike is 20-25 (driven hard) with the default sprocket. Will it be possible to gain some numbers in the mileage (more than 25) using the after market ones.

                      • What is KTM ---

KTM Sportmotorcycle AG is an Austrian motorcycle, bicycle and moped manufacturer. The company was founded in 1934 by engineer Hans Trunkenpolz [1] in Mattighofen. It started out as a metal working shop and was named Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen. In 1954 KTM began producing motorcycles.
KTM is most commonly known for its off road motorcycles though in recent years it has expanded into street motorcycle production.

That's a major concern. The exhaust is located at a very uncomfortable location. It can get damaged while doing serious offroading, right?

I don't think it should be below 25. That would really put it in some different category...

KTM powerparts section is currently not available: PowerParts KTM

As for Duke's sprockets, they are 14/43 in the .520 chain category. Try rear sprockets from Karizma, P200, etc. Yes, from whatever I perceive from the ride reports and numbers, you should gain in terms of highway & city mileage, if these sprockets fit your bike.

                            • Duke's Top Speed is revealed

                              It's now between 157 to 160 KPH.

That makes it faster than R15 and P220. Using smaller sprocket the top speed can be pulled near to CBR250. Thanks Bajaj for upping the top speed.
