A naked version of the bike, called the GT250, will be launched soon thereafter. The competition is becoming fiercer in this segment and we hope other manufacturers also join the fray.
Thats something in future + speculations for the price.
My statement was for current price. at 1.7-1.9 lac it is worth the money

Hyosung had a winner on their hands a V-Twin (First in this segment)..
Sporty riding postion, Big bike looks et.c but then finally out came its
pricing.. had it been sub 2.5 lakhs or at worst 2.5 lakhs it could have
      been a Ninja Slayer..

But now its gone wasted dont you think plus Ninja has much better
service network to support it.. Even though its pricey to maintain

So, that's about it, from the tone of the comparo it's overpriced way too much.
It seems to be a comparison where it was already decided, that whatever GT250r may bring we're going with Ninja as a winner.
No issues with declaring Ninja as a winner cos it clearly is a winner, but there are certain points which made me think that the comparison was a bit biased

        1. 0-100 kph figure is definitely incorrect.
        2. As per PTR review, GT250R turns in quicker than the Ninja, but Overdrive says it doesn't.

        • Without marketing and publicity how can you you convey a product value to an illiterate market? Through price and price only. This is the game Hyosung is playing.
Common people don't know what Hyosung is. Nor they are aware of bhp and cylinders. They will decide it based only on price. Sad but true.

            • Xbhp's Hyosung GT 250R launch video. Its looking amazingly good:

Personally, I believe Localization can save the GT 250R though, I believe. Also, the naked version can cut the price by a small margin.

I would have loved to responded to this, but ... !

Is the OD review a video review?
Have they shown a rider actually trying to "corner" both the bikes?

that's what i am thinking..why did they say in the launch itself that bike will become cheaper in upcoming months?? no company unfolds their cards like this

now who'll buy this bike at this point when they already know that it'll get cheaper after sometime??..hopefully from next batch itself..

that i read somewhere though the source wasn't reliable enough so i also had a doubt..

but still even if it'll take some time then what's harm in waiting?? & if a customer needs a bike urgently & have that much money then go & buy a baby Ninja..no need to go for,or even think of Hyosung in that price range..current price range of this bike is really absurd..

                        • Hyusung used to make Suzuki bikes under license when it began > Don't know if they still do. If they were decent enogh for suzuki, why is there so much doubt about their abilities(read quality) issues. Ok the GTR might not be as good as the NInja quality wise, but am sure it's not gonna lag behind too much either.
Besides I also think, that it was impossible for Hyusung to price it lower or else it wouldn't have made sense for the CKD route. I am sure the spares would be cheaper than the NInja.
And regarding the disclosure of the possible localization, probably they wan't the public to acquire a taste for the GT-250R first and then commit local production

yes, i agree, the pricing is too much.

don't know how much we have to wait for localization.
