Re: Suzuki Gixxer being tested in Noida
I guess rural India consider Honda to be Indian product, thanks to market penetration of erstwhile Hero-Honda duo. Kawasaki, Suzuki & Yamaha sounds alien to them despite being from same origin country. Both Suzuki & Yamaha register almost same sale figures; Suzuki in scooters, Yamaha in bikes.

There's already a thread for 2013 sales figures

This Gixer can very well replace the good ol' Thunder 125, sold in South-East Asia

Re: Suzuki Gixer being tested in Noida
It has GIXER written on it? ooh come on suzuki please give us a smaller version of GSX-R in the 150 or 250 segment am tired of day dreaming about a mini GsxrOriginally posted by Vaibhav Saigal View PostI saw 2 suzuki bikes being tested on the noida e-way. didn't look anything special other than the exhaust.

may be this is a naked version of their GSX-R 150Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post"Gixer" is a misnomer and poor choice of name for a commuter. The word Gixxer evolved as an acronym of GSX-R - Suzuki's series of superbikes, which have nothing in common with this mixer

The 2014 CBR 250 is now like a 1000rrOriginally posted by Soul_Hunter View PostI don't think it's an upgrade to the GS150r. It's a naked bike so most probably it will be an upgrade to the sling shot. But the name gixxer seriously doesn't suite the bike. It's like Honda has launched the CBR with looks similar to the VFR1200.
Cheers

I find ZMR's rear discs to be quite forgiving and not so sharp... in my RTR FI it used to lock up often at high speed stops for like every 8 out of 10 times I hit it while in ZMR its like 1 out of 10 timesOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostDisagree. I find zmr's rear discs very sharp. They lock easily. Moreover, rear brakes are never meant to stop a motorcycle.

Re: Suzuki Gixer being tested in Noida
The headlamp unit looks more or less like the one on P135 and the rear looks a little like of the SZ-R. Anyways it looks good and can give the FZ a run for its money in terms of its naked looks. I believe Suzuki is following Honda's and Yamaha's strategy. Looks like they are using the same 150cc block powering the GS150R to give the mass market a stylish product to appeal the youth category. Its like Unicorn and Dazzler story all the way except for we don't know if this one will be a little more powerful than the GS. And I guess they are using the GSX name to create a false impression of the bike. Our janata always fall for that. The same way Yamaha did with the R15 using R1 (No offence to the R15)!Originally posted by co0lG View PostA simple mod, by changing the rear mudflap with a pulsar 200NS and its a pretty decent bike

Re: Suzuki Gixxer being tested in Noida
He's referring to a model which might look like Honda CBR 150R or Yamaha YZF15, liquid cooled, blah blah. Which might not show up altogether.Originally posted by prathappa View PostHow can you be so sure? Hope its tomorrow!
Apparently, above Gixxer lines up with Yamaha FZ16 or Honda Trigger.
Even if they come out with it in 4th quarter it'll be a great news to Suzuki followers.Originally posted by Raja Saiyan View Postsecond or third quarter of this year I assumeThere is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Re: Suzuki Gixer being tested in Noida
But they did make R15 really good in terms of performance (handling, refinement).Originally posted by harishkumarko View PostThe same way Yamaha did with the R15 using R1 (No offence to the R15)!
If Suzuki can deliver on the performance part, with a mix of style, they can have a winner at their hands.Last edited by nadz11.ns; 01-27-2014, 02:51 AM.
