Re: 2014 Hero Xtreme launched at Rs 66,516: xBhp News
Why do I feel that the previous iteration was perfect. They shouldnt have changed that. Any ways, does it means, Xtreme and Xtreme sports are same bikes with different engine tune, or diffent design alltogether?HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

I agree with you. If you ask me they should have atleast kept the tank flaps, and then added all the new features.Originally posted by sambit View PostWhy do I feel that the previous iteration was perfect. Brother, I work in Bike OEM (See my profile) and I am loyal to my company.. at the same time I am a biker too from outside, If you can see the full thread, I have quoted both positive & negatives, & negatives doesn't mean we are destroying image of the bike, it means that I feel it could be a little better & should become better in future.. Each person has different view & likings and I request you to respect that, instead of starting a comment war! For Peace..Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostNo wonder many senior members refrain from visiting xbhp these days. All thanks to comments like these. What benefit does it give one by commenting negatives about a bike? "bikers respect each bike" is what i heard here. Seems like it has no meaning in these forums. If you do not like it, keep the views with you instead of posting them and degrading the quality. Freedom of speech, yeah i know. But not at the cost of degrading the quality of info available here. If someone comes to this thread to find technical info regarding this bike, they'll just end up reading crap..

Re: 2014 Hero Xtreme launched at Rs 66,516: xBhp News
All types of comments are welcomed bro. Am not saying no negatives at all. But then, there is a way of expressing it too. Not by making fun of it. That's why those two posts where deleted. And negative comments too help in giving a better view of the overall product. The bold part in your reply sums up my intentions. And i have no special interest in typing counter-posts as you claim it. And i wanted to do something constructive and as a result, the clean-up happened. Thanks for reminding me though.Originally posted by Bibhu View PostSo you believe negetive comments should not be there? Granted, the language could have been better, but at core their comments are a general expression. They are unhappy with how the bike looks. Nothing wrong with it. If you want to do something constructive then explain the good features of the new extreme as mr. Sibun has done. Not just write a counter post.
Personally, I think the previous version of the bike looked better. Too many cuts and slashes on this one. Meter and headlamp dont look like they gel with the bike. A bit overdesigned, I would say. Although modern features like immobilisers, o ring chain and bigger tyre are welcome.

Coming to the bike itself, personally i did not like the looks but the features are always a welcome.
Regarding it not being bulky or sporty enough, not all people think alike. There are many many people who like their bikes to be simple in looks, yet loaded with features. Not everyone is 20-30yrs in age who like sporty looking bikes. So i feel this bike will sell in good numbers. Specially because of the features and hero's quality.ZMR- PGMFI re-defined

My post was not at all directed towards you. As i said above, negative comments help a lot in deciding how the bike is but in a proper way. Most of them are mistaking the intentions, so apologies..Originally posted by saikarthik View PostBrother, I work in Bike OEM (See my profile) and I am loyal to my company.. at the same time I am a biker too from outside, If you can see the full thread, I have quoted both positive & negatives, & negatives doesn't mean we are destroying image of the bike, it means that I feel it could be a little better & should become better in future.. Re: 2014 Hero Xtreme launched at Rs 66,516: xBhp News
Good thing that they have the kept the previous design elements in the sports version. Regarding the power 15.2 bhp is well and good, I just hope they have not sacrifised the smoothness of the bike to achieve it. Most customers of hero buy hero bikes for commuting regardless of its genre.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Post

Re: 2014 Hero Xtreme launched at Rs 66,516: xBhp News
The difference in the design is intentional in order to differentiate between extreme and the sports model.
I agree that mine model of extreme looks the best, but a naked chain and fatter rear tire would have completed the looks. The same will be taken from new extreme to my bike.
Also the new extreme sports look more muscular than the new extreme. The tank scoops and the split seats make the 2011 model extreme look quite good. And one thing to notice in my extreme is that although the seat is split seat the rider seat is large and spacious and the rear seat is also flat and big so they are comfortable.
The extreme sports with 15.2 bhp power will be more hooligan to ride than the current model of extreme. I am waiting to see what all changes have hero done on the extreme sports.
And as Bibhu has said most buy hero bikes for commuting. But many others buy hero for their quality and zero maintenance.
Lets wait for the new extreme sports. Although the present extreme will look good in real life as the design will look good in 3D than 2D.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. Was CBZ Xtreme ever known for its looks?
Since it came into market it has been boxing bag for its look. :P
Nevertheless, its is great bike and already had great engine. What it missed was gadgets and funkiness

Sae the bike and the rear section looks sporty.. they have removed the tank side part that came with the recent xtreme.. the bikr isnt a killer in looks from front. But the tail section made it look neat

The website here Hero Xtreme, New Xtreme, Price and Specifications - Hero MotoCorp Ltd. shows the power is still 14.4 Ps @8500 RPM I can not find any reference to 15.2 Ps there.
