I told you soOriginally posted by Auto View PostWell ya, competitive pricing indeed, but ex-Chennai would be about 2.9x then , in which case I might have to drop it and start waiting for Honda to launch the most-delayed facelift of CBR250R ! :-|

The Ninja 650 could feel the heat from the GT, because hardcore tourers will get that.Originally posted by deepak82 View PostWith 600i's price being under 6Lac On-road, do you feel ninja650 and Er6 n would feel the heat??
I mean look at it, 27 litre tank, and huge panniers. What more does a tourer want?
The reliability is a suspect though.
The ER6F, I reckon, is a sales dud already, and the 600i may well put it in its grave.

IMO not only from the ninja stables but also it'll cannibalize hyosungs, and to a certain extent the z800, and the ducati monster whenever it arrives as well.pricing is hands down win- win for a 4 pot!and that exhaust noteOriginally posted by deepak82 View PostWith 600i's price being under 6Lac On-road, do you feel ninja650 and Er6 n would feel the heat??
even i feel the heat,in my pants

I would guess its cheaper to import Chinese parts compared to Italian importsOriginally posted by HyperRetard View PostI believe the 899 has deliberately been made a scapegoat, to make the pricing of the 600s and that of the 1130 look more appealing.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I wouldn't say clean bowled just yet. They've definitely priced most of their really well. But the spares, service and reliability is still a big question mark. If they nail it on those 3 fronts, then benelli definitely has a bright future in India.Originally posted by kety213 View PostSure... now the kawa are been clean bowled by benelli...just pray the Japs cut down the cost like they did for z800.

Re: DSK Benelli Announce Tie-Up for India
I'm pretty happy with the way Benelli has priced their motorcycles. However, the pricing of the TNT 300 leaves me a bit disappointed. I think they've overpriced it a bit and their profit margins on it are pretty high.
For comparison, the duke 390, it's direct competitor provides more power, ABS, metzeler tyres, slipper clutch and onboard computers which calculates mileage etc. All of this for about 2L on road.
Whereas the Benelli TNT 300 has double disc and that extra cylinder but still is lower on horsepower when compared to the Duke 390 and doesn't come with ABS or slipper clutch. The TNT 300 has been priced at 2.83 L (that too the lower version with the mrf tyres. The Pirelli shod TNT is even more expensive)
I wonder if paying 1L extra for an extra cylinder and no ABS is worth it.
When it comes to VFM, the Benelli doesn't make a strong case for itself.

well its just that you buy into the Benelli heritage and exclusivity.price vfm be damned.that may be the ultimate goal of the TnT300Originally posted by easy rider View PostI wonder if paying 1L extra for an extra cylinder and no ABS is worth it.

ofcourse duke or pulsar 400ss when it launches would make more sense in the performance per rupee term..
Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.
600i chasing Z800 and yammy.the sound, power delivery and smooth handling appears to be just delicious

Looks like Benelli's Marketing gimmick is working very well then. Do you know that the motorcycles being sold under the Benelli brand name aren't real Benelli's. They're actually designed and manufactured by a Chinese company Keeway Motors. It is just the TNT 899 and TNT R that are Italian. So all that 'heritage' talk is just baloney. The only thing Italian about the bikes is the name Benelli, nothing more. So charging a premium for these bikes because of their so called heritage is rubbish. I however do applaud the marketing genius of Keeway motors. Using the brand image of an Italian brand to cover up the poor reputation of Chinese made products is brilliantly thought out. They're going to fool a lot of unaware bikers in India. I'm pretty sure a lot of MBA schools will be doing a case study on this business strategy a few years down the lineOriginally posted by Madmax_220 View Postwell its just that you buy into the Benelli heritage and exclusivity.price vfm be damned.that may be the ultimate goal of the TnT300

I'm not writing off the Benelli's because they're a Chinese brand. In fact, China is very capable of producing good products and these Benelli's may just be pretty reliable. But for all those people who think they're buying an Italian Stallion
when purchasing a Benelli, they couldn't be further from the truth.

So by saying this are you sure benelli engineers have no hand what so ever in designing or engineering 600i or 600gt, or any other future products after keeway motors took over Benelli because I thought when a company is taken over they get access to all technology

[QUOTE=deepak82;1136664]Access to technology? What technology bro? The Benelli brand was defunct for about 15 yrs before finally producing the Tornado 900 Tre, an inline 3 cylinder motorcycle. Unless your saying that Keeway motors was looking for really old technology.Originally posted by easy rider View PostLooks like Benelli's Marketing gimmick is working very well then. Re: DSK Benelli Announce Tie-Up for India
Here is the thing, not all is evil and bad. Sure it can very likely be a marketing gimmick but it only makes sense that after acquiring Benelli QJ moved its 600 product from 'Keeway' brand into Benelli, IT MAKES NO SENSE for them to run two companies under the same ownership competing against each other. Also they could have easily merged the two to improve on the Quality of production. Benelli wasnt so consistent in its early days, as any other small scale company. Same goes for Keeway. Thus merging some products for the two for a premium brand and keeping Keeway as a an economical brand in the market and thereby having different quality , quantity and market focused production.Originally posted by easy rider View PostLooks like Benelli's Marketing gimmick is working very well then. But, yes I will have to see how DSK BENELLI holds up on Aftersale services only then will I think of buying a BN600I. And yes it is an interesting business case study :PBeing on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.
Ride safe, Ride long.
