DSK Benelli TnT 300
Hi Everybody!
This is my first post on xbhp and I am very excited about it.
Hope everybody is good here and enjoying their time.
Well I wanted to start a new thread for Benelli TnT 300, the new light weight coming to India in collaboration with DSK motors. We all must be well acquainted with the fact now that Benelli is one of the oldest companies in producing motorcycles (since 1911). Few years back it was brought by a Chinese group QianJiang and now they have made their way to India with 5 bikes ranging from 300cc to 1130cc. It includes
1.tnt 300
2.tnt 600i
3.tnt 600gt
4.tnt 899
5.tnt 1130r/ called cafe racer in some countries
Their prices were disclosed yesterday 19th March and it ranges from 2.83 lakhs to 11.2 lakhs. I have booked my tnt 300 last Sunday here in Delhi. This post will mostly talk about the same bike.
The showroom in Delhi is present on Faiz road, close to Jhandewalan Metro station opposite to Hanumanji statue. Currently they are booking through Suzuki showroom but soon they are going to move to a separate place. The staff and GM sales all were good to talk to. The story of my purchase began with the CONFUSION; the confusion of which bike to buy. I first went for Ninja650 the most versatile bike, but due to some reasons my interest really wore off with it. The bike is no doubts is good but the recent increase in pricing, unwanted saree guard, no provision of pillion handle bar and similar things (staff @ few showrooms), 30,000km or 2years of warrenty kind of repelled me away from it. I got really disappointed and wanted a good bike with decent power and touring capabilities. Then one day I came across a video on youtube about the a bike called Benelli 300, I just loaded it and what I found was pretty interesting and attractive.
My requirements were pretty clear to me (that I needed a cross of sports and tourer) that is why I never opted for Ninja300 or Duke/RC 390 (All of them are really good bikes but sporty position of ninja and heating issue and limited fuel tank of KTM were really not appealing to me). This bike was producing fairly good power 36 BHP and 27NM torque and was also soon to be available in India. Another thing was that the build quality was good (at least what i deduced from millions of videos and articles i kept on reading online) and the same was to be sent to India via CKD route from China. The engine note was supreme and bike was fairly designed. All these things were pulling me towards it. After I had collected all information about ride quality, suspension, engine heat and handling (power delivery). I went to book the bike.
Apparently, when I had gone to showroom there were no models to display, but by confirming through web-site and other sources (about the legitimacy of the place) I had booked it on 15th March.
This bike is launched at a price of 2.83 Ex-showroom Delhi but what I got was a surprise, when I checked about the bike on the website it said that bike will be carrying a set of MRF tires110/70 - 17 (M) 150/60 - 17 (M) this being front and rear format but the original machine was to carry Pirelli 120/70 - 17 (P) 160/60 - 17 this had really made me upset, it was not about the 10MM on the tires but I really wanted a bike which was unaltered (although 10MM will cause some handling difference) so whole day I tried to contact many showrooms and wrote on many posts just to get classifications but I didn't get any.
It was only later this day when I had called Pune and Mumbai showrooms I got the actual specification and boy are they good or what!
1. Bike will be available with both tire options, it would be rider's choice. Although there will be a slight price difference of 8-10k, but for Pirelli Angles I think it does not matter
2. And this is big one, the Indian version is to get a 2.5 BHP increase so now the bike will be close to Ninja 300 BHP levels. So the max power will be around 38.5 or 38.2 BHP @ 11,500 RPM.
(Reason why I was not getting full fledged help from Delhi showroom was because it is still under Work In Progress and it will be fully functional by 24-26th this month)
I am very happy with this announcement and I am waiting to get my hands on the bike, I will be getting it in the first lot itself. Till then fingers are crossed.
Thanks All...

Re: DSK Benelli Announce Tie-Up for India
So you accept that 2 out 5 Benelli bikes are Italian. That is 40%.Originally posted by easy rider View PostLooks like Benelli's Marketing gimmick is working very well then. Do you know that the motorcycles being sold under the Benelli brand name aren't real Benelli's. They're actually designed and manufactured by a Chinese company Keeway Motors. It is just the TNT 899 and TNT R that are Italian.

ANy news on Aftermarker options from Benelli? I believe the 300 will have optional MRF or Pirelli tyres with a price rise of 8000Rs for the Pirellis. I wonder if they will bring the IXIL X55 exhaust for the BN600I. That thing sounds SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.

On enquiring at the pune dealership, they are not sure about the aftermarket accessories just yet. Maybe they will provide it few months down the line.Originally posted by UnsettledNose73 View PostANy news on Aftermarker options from Benelli? I was surprised to see the low ground clearance of the 600s. Especially the GT. It didn't even have a belly pan. I wonder how it will cope on indian roads. Low GC+no engine protection on a touring bike!

I think they wanted to make something like the Honda VFR with the 600GT. its not really a touring, but more like a sport touring bike.Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.

Re: DSK Benelli Announce Tie-Up for India
Well me and quite a lot of xbhp members from pune attended the showroom opening of DSK Benelli here today. Test rides begins from monday so lot of info will be coming on then.
Some info until then. Service interval is 4K kms. First service free. RSA for first 2K kms I believe. Bikes have a much better build quality than Hyosung. All bikes sound sweet. The 300 sounds freaking awesome and the 600i is well, inline 4 music.
. Benelli sure got the sound right!!! 600GT looks like a monster. Its big. Very big. A few tweaks here and there are required for this. Finally, the bikes are heavy.
Whatever maybe the case Benelli has generated a lot of interest. Let's see how does the italian-chinese combo plays out.

Congrulations on the booking bro! I think you're one of the first xbhp members to book it. Which color have you booked? And are you going for the MRF's or the Pirelli's? Did they give you a tentative date of when you can expect to get the bike?

Re: DSK Benelli TnT 300
Thanks mate! well color is still not final, actually Delhi showroom is not fully setup yet, they are taking orders but there is no bike to display yet. Hopefully they will start calling people by end of this week for all specifications regarding colors and tires. I will defiantly opt for Pirelli tires, one reason being that there is size difference of 10mm which will have impact on handling or grips (although I don't have any solid proof on that) but I guess what was required was an unaltered bike. Had it been coming with MRFs then I would have no problem with it.Originally posted by easy rider View PostCongrulations on the booking bro! I think you're one of the first xbhp members to book it. Hi HyperRetard! Thanks for your wishes..Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostCongrats on your bike.

Well TnT 600i is a 4 cylinder but still no ABS, and if I am spending over 5 Lakhs then I expect some safety. Also I had to book one other vehicle (need came urgently) so there was some financial crunch
.
I have a plan for a bigger machine, but then I will have to wait for it. Hopefully it comes soon enough.
