Isnt the 899 and 1130 CBU from Italy unlike the others which are CKD, I wonder how they are closely priced. May be 1130 OTR may come close to 14L

Aren't* (You said my fault finding abilities were beyond compare, so didn't want to let you down. )

And yes, you are correct in your observation that they both are CBUs. The 1130 will be close to the Speed Triple and the Z1000 as I am made to understand.

The 899 is where the intrigue lies. Are they making any substantial money on it?

I am Bit Dis appointed with the pricing of TNT 300 .I expected it to Retails in the category of 2.4 L Max. Anything more .they are killing the brand . They need to understand that they are not established brand & Price / brand conscious indian consumer do look for how much value the bike is bringing in for him .

Who are you talking about? the Splendour crowd? Bare in mind the subject of import duty, bribes etc..It goes on and on to why anything imported costs too much here, it's not going to change in our lifetime, so just accept it. If you can afford it and like it buy it, otherwise don't , it's really that simple.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Not sure about what you are talking about . Splendor crowd.. what is that.....

I has a opinion and i put it forward keeping every thing in picture . taxes / no taxes, I can still assure you that they are making hefty profit on each 300 that they will sold in india. It is not about Affordability .. it is more about giving a option to splendor crowd to move up the value chain and look for better options which better value for the money .

Italian themselves prefer Duccati any day over Banelli . I know it because i work closely Italians on these subjects .

The first time I saw the video review of 600i & 600GT I was excited. But when I was sober, I dropped this from my future upgrade plan due to:-

                1) JV with an unknown group. DSK, who? They may be big in real estate but automotive is a different industry. Not very confident of A.S.S for a 6L bike.
                2) Benelli, is Italian only in name, owners are Chinese. If I remember right, bikes upto 600GT are manufactured also in China. So it is not a poor man's Ducati I hoped it to be when I 1st saw the video. One should check out their website, they have been in trouble every 2-3 decades and changed hands.

At speculated ~6L Ninja 650 remains the bike I aspire for because of the peaceful ownership experience it promises.

To discard a product just because is has 'Made in Chain' stamp is not good. Most of the pricy electronic products we use are made in chain, does it make them bad ? No. Its the quality that matters.
As for changing hands every 2-3 decades, it might not be because of the bikes quality, but due to incompetence of the owner.

Service center problem, yes it is. DSK hasn't been on the right track with that.

In short, what i want to convey is that just because the bikes are manufactured in China, doesn't necessarily mean they would be low on quality. We should atleast give them a chance.

                  Ride safe and have fun.

Absolutely agree that it shouldn't be discarded just because it is manufactured in China but then that is how perception works.

In the numerous parallels drawn in this thread like iPhone, etc-People are buying a brand in those cases. Benelli, I am afraid doesn't have the same popularity in India like that of Apple and coupled with its China association works negatively for these bikes. And a few open minded individuals who still will show interest will be scared by an unknown JV partner.

No offense though, But spending 6L to "give them a chance" is a bit too much to ask for, Its solely his opinion. Also We dont have any pricey electronics manufactured in China which is available for sale in India cost upward of 6L, afaik. Its just the trust the Brand builds or has built worldwide. Kawasaki on the other hand is known to every biker around the world. DSK on the other hand screwed big time in A.S.S of Hyosung bikes here in chennai, Hence the doubt arises in the minds of people who is actually wanting to own an Italian stallion but the Owners themselves are the subject here or the product may be. Unless we all see it, nothing to be said. May be people who actually drove the bikes as part of the #Thankyouride or who did the review can give the better view. We dont want to speculate much about an unknown brand. They are definitely the underdogs now.

I didn't mean one should buy a ₹6L bike just to give them a chance. What i meant was, there are many teams who review automobiles and some give real unbiased opinion. So lets wait and see what the experts have to say.
I do agree regarding A.S.S part and this will put most customers. But regarding quality, i will reserve my say till i see the bike and hear what experts have to say.

I'm not lucky like you. no DSK showroom in 600-700km radius, hence no drooling over any.

Agree Fully in Bold . They do not has any Brand following here and exactly the reason that i think TNT 300 is overpriced by at least 60-70 K .

                                They're built in Italy AFAIK.
