I guess its the CBR 650F, not the CBR600RRR we are all aware of

Italian origin remains but the pricing might change. Ktm should launch duke 690 soon now knowing that a lot of companies are entering the competition.

Re: DSK Benelli Announce Tie-Up for India

                finally its launched.

                "extremely competitive" means ...??

for ex, a 300CC at 3.5 lakhs is not competitive.

at 3.0 lakhs it is kinda ok

at 2.5 lakhs it is competitive.

at 2.0 lakhs it is extremely competitive. (Do you think this is gonna happen)

so like bajaj, DSK will have hyosung as its premium brand and Benelli as affordable brand. something here is not fitting right. Must be the definition of "extremely competitive pricing" is different.

                the bikes look pretty weird.

the 300CC bike has a nice exhaust note.

lets wait for the pricing ....

A weird question though on the Benelli bikes..

Why is Benelli TNT 1130 is a 3-cylinder bike and BN600R A I-4 ? Usually we get to see high powered bikes as I-4 ? Any specific reason for this design ??

Might be because inline-4 engines are wider. I guess they wanted to keep it slim.

                      Correct me if I'm wrong

That is because the triples were made when Benelli was still an Italian company. More like the triples of triumph, Benelli made bikes with the Inline triple configuration. The Inline fours i.e the BN600s came when the company was bought by Qianjiang group China. A change of management came with a change in design philosophy. The triples were retained as they were successful models. The BN302 parallel and the 600s were created after the acquisition by the chinese group.

That's why I am more interested in the TNT triples than the BN bikes (Sorry but China made just puts me off )

Agree with you Prince. No wonder ours is a price sensitive market. People expect good stuff at throw away prices. However, there is nothing called as free meal, and from what I have read, DSK plans to treat Benelli as a Luxury brand, because of its Italian origin. While in actual fact Benelli isn't an exotic Brand outside.

If that is true, then the pricing definitely wont be "throw away" price. The 300 cc logically may be priced higher than Hyosung GT250R, which itself is on the higher side.

Same applies to GT650. I would be more than happy if DSK prices them real low. I also believe quality does not come cheap. Lets see if DSK surprises the price conscious junta positively or negatively. My vote is for the later.

Here is the link to the approx pricing band: BBC TopGear Magazine India Official Website

Last para says: To begin with, DSK-Benelli will launch its Tornado Naked Tre (or TNT) superbikes that include the in-line, 2cyl TNT 302, in-line/4cyl TNT 600 i and GT, in-line/3cyl TNT 899 and TNT 1130 R. Prices will be revealed two months from now when these motorcycles will be officially launched in India. However, expect the TNT 302 to cost around Rs 4 lakh, the 600cc bike close to Rs 9 lakh, going up to Rs 13 lakh for the TNT 899 and Rs 18 lakh for the TNT 1130 R (on-road).
