Re: Kawasaki will launch five high-end motorcycles in next two years: xBhp News
Hey I was not talking from the perspective of RnD and recouping costs. I understand a supersport , that two relatively new(the 600 is a very old model, but the cheater road only Ninja is a relatively new offering, although how much more tech than a rebored engine is something I don't know) will always have more RnD into it.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostThe only reason why the Z800 is priced so low is because its its a Z750, with a bit more displacement/5ps more/5kg more and a bigger sprocket meant to compete with the FZ8 a long time ago.
Its more like how the Honda 250R is now a 286R(although called 300R) with a 20,000 premium over the previous model because the production line remains almost unchanged in large parts.
Its been manufactured since 2005 so Kawasaki's only concern is to moderate its pricing based on changes in raw material costs owing to inflation. Same goes for the N650 and the Z1000 = N1000 which has been around since 2005.
Look at the Ninja 300. All new product and well out of the price range compared to the international markets. Unlike the older models they have to retain their investments with these newer models hence the pricing is well beyond bounds.
The guess was purely from a comparative pricing perspective.
This assumes that they are going to maintain the proportionate pricing of the two models in India, as they do in the UK.
The ZX-6R is costlier everywhere else too as compared to Z800. If they don't decide to reap more profit than they do in the UK and everything else remaining the same, we may expect a favourable pricing. But of course it's a big if.The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

It was sent for homologation in May this year so should be out by year end/early next year - I don't know how long the ARAI guys take to homologate a bike.Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostAlright I am sorry to interrupt in the ongoing discussions which you guys are having, I need to know only onething i.e. also if anyone has any confirmed news about it - Is there any news about Verys 650 giving a glimpse in India?
Since it was sent for homologation it is very likely that a release will follow - why will Kawasaki spend the money otherwise?

What happened to the strong statement from Kawasaki that the ZX-6R would be launched in India in 2015 [emoji19] Talk of the ZX-6R seems to have died down completely.Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell. Some of the greatest stories in the world are not written, they are experienced.

I'm just recollecting how excited I was to read this thread for the release of India's first Inline four, 600cc supersport machine! But this thread is now a joke and a reason to laugh at myself.
Pst... ZX6R still a dream for Indians!
