Re: Mahindra Mojo Introductory Price Rs 158000/- Ex Showroom Delhi
My bike (Volcano red) will be delivered this coming week.
Meanwhile, I was reading the Overdrive review of Yamaha R3 (2015 Yamaha YZF-R3 Road Test Review (India) Review - Road Test By Overdrive) and was intrigued by this line of text:
If a set of Diablo Rosso IIs costs 14K then it is sort of affordable. To confirm, I went to Zauba as usual -The Mahindra Mojo’s Pirelli Diablo IIs are excellent and Mahindra Two-Wheelers dealers are I’m told, retailing them for Rs 14,000 a set.
Since the front and rear tyres cost ~ 3K and 4K in import data it seems believable that they would retail at 14K a set, accounting for duties and profit margins. However, I will wait till I have this information first-hand from a dealership to be sure.
Now that I was in Zauba and had the filter set to the motorcycle tyre HS code (40114010), I also found the Metzelers in the data -
So if these tires (which cost lesser than the Pirellis) are being sold for ~20K+ a set then you know why Bajaj is the most profitable company

Wow so it imports at around 3k for a set of such awesome tyres and Bajaj basically sells it at 20K.thats insane

Re: Mahindra Mojo Introductory Price Rs 158000/- Ex Showroom Delhi
Got the delivery today and unfortunately it was around 7 PM which meant megatons of slow moving Bangalore traffic.
I was riding slow when a chap on a splendor crashed into a truck in front and landed right in my path - I swerved hard and narrowly missed him.
Some ten minutes and a few kilometers later a scooterist jumped into a pothole and nearly crashed into me.
After all this nonsense I shelved my plan to ride it a bit more today and went back home. I'm not going to ride in traffic, it is horrible. Or maybe I feel that way now.
Maybe tomorrow I'll take my pulsar and go crashing and bashing with the rest of the crowd.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Thanks
Thanks. I put in a 1000 bucks of petrol last night. So far it is going excellent - I can do around 90 kmph @ 5K rpm in sixth gear and running in is not a pain. I am trying to finish the run-in by this weekend because I'm riding to Jaipur on Thursday - Nov 26th. From a rough estimate I am averaging around 33-34 kmpl, will verify post running in.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostFirst of all, congrats on buying one of the best motorcycles by an Indian Manufacturer..

The good thing about today was that I rode ~500 km and no back pain, no bottom pain and no windblast aftereffects either. Only my right wrist has some pain.
The crashes continue - 3 young chaps on a ZMA decided to overtake me (and I was doing 30 kmph in Mandya/Srirangapatna/nearby), some ladies were crossing the road ahead and they crashed trying to avoid them. No injuries but they narrowly missed me.
Feedback about exhaust - it is nice and growly but people think that it is an invitation to race and then end up doing silly things.
Anyway I will get to work on the ownership thread - I know others have got the bike earlier, they should have started it by now.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER
