  • BMW's 313cc G310 R

completely newly developed 313 cc liquid-cooled SINGLE-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection. The capacity of 313 cc results from a bore of 80 millimetres and a stroke of 62.1 millimetres.
The striking feature of the engine is its backward-tilted cylinder in open-deck design with the cylinder head turned by 180 degrees, making it possible to position the intake tract at the front, viewed in the direction of travel. With an output of 25 kW (34 hp) at 9 500 rpm and a maximum torque of 28 Nm at 7 500 rpm, the engine of the new G 310 R is a very dynamic partner in conjunction with the low unladen weight of 158.5 kilograms

    ABS as standard
    Tyres 110/70 R 17 at front and 150/60 R 17 at rear
Developed in Munich by BMW Motorrad –
produced in India by cooperation partner TVS Motor Company.

Honestly speaking, My first reaction was TNT 300 clone

UPDATE: More photos of the BMW G310R from EICMA 2015

P.S. I know there's S1000RR and all, but you know what I mean.

The new BMW G 310 R – the first BMW roadster under 500 cc. One cylinder, low weight, powerful dynamic performance – the BMW G 310 R embodies the pure essence of a BMW roadster: it has neither too little nor too much of anything. Pragmatic in the best sense of the word, it offers precisely what is needed – for dynamic performance and comfort, both in town and out in the country.

This is very exciting news! Now you can own a BMW motorcycle if you cant afford a BMW Car

So much resemblance to a Duke 390

I would guess it to be priced more than a Duke 390 and a TNT 300. Maybe around the Z250

And who would be stupid enough to pay that much for a single?

People who wants a BMW badge in their vehicle and can't afford their car.
Anyway it all depends on it's price and performance. Let's wait for it first.

I actually dint notice that its a Single, in which case it might be cheaper than a Z250 but still more than a TNT 300 because BMW

Lucky for you, you live in Bangalore. BMW Motorrad has showroom only in Mumbai and Bangalore. I want them to open a showroom in Hyderabad too!

I dont know what your source of statistics is, but the Benelli is 2.97 ex-showroom( 3.3 on road) And the Z250 is 3.5 on road.

And that price for a TVS is outright insane.

Except its not a TVS bike, its a BMW. Just like the RC/Duke is a KTM bike not a Bajaj

                        Also TNT 300 is 2.91 Ex-SR Mumbai and Z250 is 3.08 Ex-SR Mumbai

310 can be priced at about 3 or more but I dont think it will be less than that. Just because its being manufactured in Bangalore, in TVS's plant does not mean its price will automatically drop to Indian standards...

Same instrument cluster as an apache, same grips as an apache, same bar ends as an apache, Built by TVS, built in India, *IF* it comes to India, it will be sold as a TVS, so...... if that doest make it a TVS, I dont know what will

All that BMW did was provide technical knowhow. Its like that Italian firm helped build the Mojo.

2.91 ex (i said 2.97 ex, go ahead, hang me for the extra 6 grand) comes to around 3.3 on road. And the Z250 comes to 3.4.

                          So where was I wrong?

The bike will be unveiled in the 2016 Indian Auto Expo and hopefully will be launched there after. So rest assured it will be launched here. And it doesnt have to "come" to India, its being built here.

Also go through the PDF given by the BMW Press release if you havent already. This is purely a BMW bike albeit "some" parts are supplied by companies in partnership with TVS. So no its not sold as a TVS bike, or rebadged as a TVS bike or anything like that...

Come to think of it, the TVS Draken however seems to share some concept with the G310.

The bike is being uneiled at the EICMA, so no, it wont be "unveiled". Shown? maybe.

So is the Duke 125, the Duke 250 and RC125 and 250. Just because a thing is built here doesnt mean it automatically comes here.

And I never said it was a "rebadged" TVS.

But it is not an authentic BMW bike, much like the KTMs are not authentic KTMs.

                              And lastly,
There is *NO WAY* this bike is going to cost more than 2 lakh ex-showroom, when lauched.

                              BOOKMARK THIS.
