Re: BMW's 313cc G310 R
Exactly I think the same but that's why I am guessing it might be around 2.1 at max.Originally posted by RoyalIndian View PostYes at 2.1 its an ideal price but I am wondering how much of an Impact will the Brand name BMW have on the pricing of the bike.
Z250 is a track oriented bike and power comes way above the rpm range because in track bikes you need it at higher rpms.the main reason it didn't go that good was due to its very aggressive seating posture making riders tired in no time.
The TNT is an inline twin cylinder.twin means more smoothness and very less strain on engine.however TNT300 is not about horses but its calmness.its so calm in its rev range you would enjoy riding it.also the exhaust note.I am sure some people would buy it just for the sound.unfortunately 2.93 lakhs is tok much for a brand which hasn't yet established it like the Yamaha or Kawasaki.
I really hope this BMW bike outsells the KTMs coz we need some competition on that segment WRT a deserving build quality for Indian motorcycle fans.

From the front its looking like FZ and from the rear its looking like Duke 390/200.
All depends upon how this is gonna price by BMW.KTM RC390 - Current

Hero Hunk - Sold

Its not TVS's call to make those decisions.Originally posted by Vignesh vnktrmn View PostStill TVS is one step behind Bajaj in the displacement and power department! They could have given the engine a bump in displacement and power to compete against the lighter duke,

We'll see how much the BMW G310R will cost when it does launch
No, because you fail to understand that a single cannot be priced the same as a twin cylinder bike, no matter whether brand name reads BMW or Ducati or Harley Davidson.
Bajaj owns a majority stake in KTM, so it can afford to sell KTMs, because the profit is coming to where it should.Originally posted by RoyalIndian View PostIts not TVS's call to make those decisions.
TS and BMW have nothing more than a tech sharing agreement. What will TVS get out of it? Babaji ka Thullu?Last edited by HyperRetard; 11-12-2015, 01:57 PM.

TVS gets an insight into how to develop top-notch vehicles, and it is going apply some learning to use in upcoming Apache 200. Not only that, a nexus with BMW would increase its credibility multi-folds.
You can take it as gospel that BMW would never compromise on quality, it'll only be using TVS manufacturing facilities. And since it is a tech sharing agreement with no stakes involved, there is all the more reason to believe that G310 would be an exemplary product just like other BMWs.
Apache 200 would compete against Duke 200 and G310 would compete against Duke 390 and would definitely be priced higher than 390. Although, considerably less than TNT 300/Z250. From mechanicals to cosmetics, you can expect everything to be better than KTM.
And if gets launched at under 2 lacs ex-showroom as you said, let me know whenever you're in Bangalore, beer's on me
Official press release from BMW is here : https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...hmentId=336170
If you're too lazy to read it completely, I am writing down some key points:
Also, you can try to be a bit polite while replying to other fellow-xbhp family members even when they're wrong. It's a forum to enhance each other's knowledge and not a competition to declare your superiority. Not that you care, but please don't spoil the discussion with contempt or derision. I have seen it earlier as well. We all are bikers, bikers are brothers. Let the brotherhood prevail. Cheers

Re: BMW's 313cc G310 R
You guys are going to look a bit silly if this never launches here
Speculating on price should come after we know that it is going to be launched in India. What if this bike is meant only for exports like the Duke 125/250? Maybe TVS makes its own desi version of it and sells it?
Secondly, if this bike is indeed going to be sold in India, where is it going to be displayed? I don't think BMW would want their premium products sitting in TVS showrooms and currently they only have two car dealerships in Mumbai and Delhi that also sell the higher end BMW motorcycles (and loot customers with the insane pricing)
If this is going to be sold here, I think BMW will set up its own showrooms and then bring over the entire range there including this bike.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

This bike won't see the light of day. Not on Indian soil. Not for another year.
enjoy the JPEGs.
And when it does...
Originally posted by Visordown.comThe joint bikes will all be sub-500cc, and sold in distinct BMW and TVS versions depending on the markets they’re going to.
That suggests the BMW-branded bikes will be sold in established markets like Europe while the TVS-badged machines will remain in India.

I have very little faith in TVS manufacturing a bike that is deserving of a BMW badge.

But isnt there a rumor that the 250 will be replacing teh 200?
BMW Motorrad showrooms are present only in Mumbai and Bangalore right now. So yea its gonna be a restricted supply if its gonna be launched in India. Maybe initially it will only be exported until BMW sets up more showrooms over the country?
