Re: Royal Enfield 750cc Parallel Twin [Spied]
That's what I'm also wondering. Since it's a higher capacity parallel twin, we can expect considerably lower vibrations compared to the current RE engines, but reliability we have to only wait and watch.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View Post

A 750 cc twin mill will have vibrations with no doubt.. The HD and Ducati's vibrate to an extent.. I don't think RE will be able to address it as much! Re: Royal Enfield 750cc Parallel Twin [Spied]
Yes dude because HD's are V-twins and Ducatis are L-twins, hence the inherently vibrating nature, also their power and torque figures are always identical, giving more importance to power.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostA 750 cc twin mill will have vibrations with no doubt.. Parallel twins when designed with lesser power but with more torque ; with the power tapering off by 6000 or 7000 rpm, we get a very under-stressed engine.
For example just check the Bonneville lineup. My friends own a T100 and Street Twin, both are so silky smooth up to 160 kmph. They produce 80Nm torque at 3250rpm..At 100 you won't even know whether the engine is on or not, you will just glide on the highways.
But that's Triumph with their legendary engine tuning.
On RE 750cc parallel twin we can expect 40-45 bhp and some 60-70 Nm torque..Hence they might also logically be under-stressed.

Well, you have the answer! This is REOriginally posted by jazzysaravana View PostYes dude because HD's are V-twins and Ducatis are L-twins, hence the inherently vibrating nature, also their power and torque figures are always identical, giving more importance to power.

Yup eagerly waiting, hope they don't delay it this time too!Originally posted by alishahessle View PostThe new parallel-twin from Royal Enfield will hit production, it is going to be seen at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy in November 2017.

I don't know, seems too optimistic.. From the spy shots till date we know it is an air cooled/ oil cooled motor, so a 650 from RE with 45 odd hp... And 3 lacs is definitely not gonna happen, I think.. Probably these are just rumours planted to keep interest going...Originally posted by jazzysaravana View PostFrom teambhp..

Not necessarily. Quick check with the simple oil cooled engine on the RE Himalayan -Originally posted by deejayrox View PostI don't know, seems too optimistic.. 410cc, makes 25 PS of power and 32 NM of torque... The specific output of this engine converts to 61PS per litre and 78 Nm per litre.
With the same specific output, a 650cc oil cooled engine should theoretically make - 39.6 PS and 51 Nm.
Come on... Its not rocket science!

Although its very risky to ride like this on the road but that Royal Enfield test rider is a pro!!...
Scary riding by both the guys-n quite unlike a pro test rider to be drawn in into a game of upmanship with a wanna be bike voyeur riding a smaller machineDad's Bajaj Super-1983-1989

Haha... but this is Enfield we are talking about... The Classic was supposed to be in development for 10 years.. and then they launched the C500 with claimed 28hp at crank, and while owners abroad dyno-tested it they found the actual wheel hp to be approx. 18hp. So yeah, Im not too optimistic.. Maybe RE should take a leaf from Harley playbook and start quoting only torque figures..Originally posted by Auto View PostCome on... Its not rocket science!

Re: Royal Enfield 750cc Parallel Twin [Spied]
I really am not aware of the C500 episode. But any automobile would usually have a degrade when we measure the wheel hp - due to transmission losses. But a 30% loss is quite unacceptable. However, the upcoming twin engine and transmission are all new - ground up development from Enfield. Also, this would be the first product for Royal Enfield that is being developed by the UK team.Originally posted by deejayrox View PostHaha... but this is Enfield we are talking about... So, I am just trying to not be prejudiced based on previous experiences, as the product and platform are new. I really hope RE understands that many of the potential customers have turned skeptical today, especially after the issues people reported from the Himalayan. If they anticipate this, and really come-up with a high quality twin cylinder bike with appealing styling, then they really can succeed.

Ok, Siddhartha Lal has made it official, that we will have something to look forward to at the EICMA from the Royal Enfield stable!!
He uploaded the below video on instagram, and also mentioned the EICMA start date - 7th Nov in it.
Above everything else, the exhaust note is pure music!
