if you test ride himalyan you will buy it. its really good. only downside is clunky gearbox that shifts only at certain rpm (not a big deal for re) and reliability (big concern and you wont know about this in test ride)Originally posted by AkshayMithyantha View Post
nothing serious. its just that re has certain reputation regarding reliability. but as i said it can happen with any bike. great your bike is performing well for you.Originally posted by Rohan12 View Post

not happening. even our market does not want modern bikes. old pulsar 150-180-220 still sell while much more modern ns200 getting discontinued. majority of people are not enthusiasts. they dont want anything new or modern. just a safe bet that can take them from point a to b.Originally posted by mknaidu11 View PostWhen the day will come, when we will overlook Japs and Europa bikes and admire only desi bikes !!!

Just to clear the air. NS 200 Was discontinued temporarily to make way for AS 200
FYI - Bajaj is re launching NS 200 again with FI some where in Feb 2017. Dealer demos has happened already .

manufacturers in India have little incentive to be technically advanced cause general public gladly buys primitive technology that they are comfortable with and feel safe using.
pulsars have advanced cause ktm has joined the fray. they can advance by themselves with a little help from external agencies (like re himalyan handling was outsourced to harris design i believe) but market guides them to be safe and conservative.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Launched at 1.36 Lakh with 35Ps and 35Nm!
The bike will give around 30 with regular and some spirited riding and around 26 with only spirited riding(i.e hard acceleration in every gear all the time) irrespective of city or highwayOriginally posted by arjunb25 View PostAs far as the fe of this bike my guess why not let's all of us guess I say 23 in city... and 15 on highway. As the company is claiming 30. Then just simple reduce 10 automatically. I.e. 20 in hand.
For someone who will ride it at 100 @ 5700 rpm it will return close of 35 or even more
The engine is almost different minus a few elements and hence both the bikes are poles apartOriginally posted by bhadoriabtp View Postthis bike has the same KTM ENGINE which is doing duty in KTM D 390, OR Bajaj has developed a new engine for this bike, please advise me I do not about technical aspects of engines.
See above. RE 350 is generally ridden between 60-80 and returns a mileage of 35-38 whereas this will be ridding between 100-130 and retyrn around 30. Comparison is not fair but if one rides it in a excat same way (its not possible) then it wil retyrn almost same mileage as REOriginally posted by AkshayMithyantha View PostWhat do you guys expect the mileage of the bike gonna be? I am planning to upgrade from my 4yr old P150 DTSi.. Can we expect mileage in the range of a RE 350cc? I had my eyes set on CRB250, but for a budget of 1.6lacs, I can't afford it.. Had planned on Thunderbird, but riding my dad's classic 350 had opened me up to few drawbacks of RE engines.. Open to any other suggestions on a bike within 1.6 lacs..
Once you book the online you get an sms and once your bikes arrives you will get another sms from the dealership conforming the same. From what I know the first lot will be send on 1st or 2nd Jan and it should reach various cities with 5 days from it.Originally posted by shyamsharma View PostHello guys anyone knows what is the 1st delivery date of dominar 400 at kolkata ???Last edited by MG; 12-28-2016, 01:29 PM.

This is what even I expect from it. Am not a rash rider, never cross 100 unless its some road like Bangalore-Pune highway. For a cruising speed of 85-90, if it returns anywhere around 35-38, I'll just blindly buy it (after seeing ownership thread that isOriginally posted by MG View PostFor someone who will ride it at 100 @ 5700 rpm it will return close of 35 or even more.

I did understood the point but i do remember some body else as well complaining for NS 200 so thought to clear the air for once & all, Hence addition of OFF TOPIC at start .Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View Postyou missed the point.

Coming to your point of advanced bikes & all, we need to realize that everything is market driven. If market wants primitive technology, it will continued to be dished out else how you would explain Hero still claiming no 1 spot in market. Another factor is that we are a price sensitive market. We enthusiasts will always be minority.
Another point is that gone are days when actual research used to happen. what ever is coming is coming is incremental in nature. If i am getting a technology by spending say XYZ amount , there is no point in spending double of that XYZ amount, waste time and still unsure of results.

Well as an owner of P150 DTSi, getting a mileage of 45-48, it might take time to get used to comparatively low figures. But riding my dad's RE Classic 350 is kinda giving me a pseudo experience.Originally posted by MG View PostDon't expect 38. It will be little too much, 35 is what you should expect
Coming back to Dominar, what's the process of booking a TD from the official website? I did register there, no replies from Bajaj or the selected dealer. Tried calling the said dealer, he asked me to book through website as there is too much demand for TD for just 1 bike. No further clarifications were given.

I guess you have to be a little bit patient with the test ride but I guess most are getting it easily because I see a lot of first impressions floating here and elsewhereOriginally posted by AkshayMithyantha View PostComing back to Dominar, what's the process of booking a TD from the official website?
