  • I don't know what to say about B'lore RTO.. I went to Mysore RTO today for my bike's registration. All were too good to see the bike. They calculated the tax told to pay 29637 INR as tax with 260 INR as smart card fees. Unlike in B'lore where it is 35313 INR and 250 INR as smart card fees... I saved about 5.5k by registering it in Mysore..

And wat better day to get new Bike, than the new year's eve. A good gift for yourself.

      Enjoy the rides.
I know, the wait was indeed something to write home about The timing was great too - begin the new year with a brand new bike! December was my birthday too, so I got it within the same months. Thank you for your note

In so many posts, I have missed in case you have already written a brief review on the bike. If you havent yet, I am eagerly waiting to read it.
Sure, we'll swap bikes in Pune for a day! I have not written a proper first ride impression except for the brief one in the ownership thread. I will do so later today - I just returned home after a 275km ride on the bike. Text and pictures to follow in the ownership thread...

And Bluevolt finally gets his Ninja 250R ! - Bajaj (late showroom opening) and Khivraj (late R/C), all is forgiven

I parked it in my apartment slot around an hour ago - the only problem I had riding it to my house were the RVM's and the gear changing - my RE has 1 up and 4 down (right leg side), and the 250R is the opposite so I kept downshifting thinking I was slotting it in higher gear And the mirrors will take some time getting used to...

Rode it in the year end Bangalore traffic mayhem, so 4000 rpm was the max I could go to anyway - feels like any other bike at that speed, but the gearbox+engine is super smooth. Very rider friendly, I'd say, and decent brakes.

I will post some pictures after I swap out the black tail covers with my green ones - I was looking for my screwdriver, and it took an hour to find where it was! Now, for some DIY stuff...

        congrats....
        finally u have your bike.
edit: bro that new green tail looks gorgeous. now it looks meaner and greener i love this new look

Actually I forgot to order the black seat when I was ordering the tail covers. But I guess enough money spent for now (I am already broke!) so I'll leave that for some other day. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Number 17... Maybe end of this month?

Note: Since I have got my bike now, I will be posting most of my experiences in the ownership thread now Here's my first ride report from today:

              • Yeah i can understand why your broke, probably a black seat cover in the exact same texture should solve the problem.End of this month keeping my fingers crossed mate. How has the experience been so far?? Judging by the bulk city travel requires some care. What are your thoughts??

                • I have posted my ride impression in the ownership thread.

City travel is not a problem handling-wise, you just have to be careful about other 2-wheelers zipping around your bike and damaging the bodywork.

Superbly composed first ride impression which was very much expected from you .

Regarding the adulation you mentioned for the bike, I also come across similar things when guys point to the bike and ask their friends to look at it when I am riding it or even when it is parked (despite I never wore any riding gear while riding it). It surely catches hell lot of attention even with black colour that a lot of other bikes too have.

Few other things I observed the same way as you did are :

                    1. Even I messed up once with trying to push the bike to first gear while the side stand was on the ground and for a few seconds thought there was something wrong with the bike

                    2. My wrists also feel a bit of discomfort at times and thats the reason I had thought of buying additional grip for the handles as I feel the current radius is less than what it should be, particularly for those who have big palms

                    3. I have had this knack of diverting my attention to the speedometer to make sure I am not going much over 4k RPM. In this process, I have been overly disciplined so far to keep it upto 4k rpm only (not even 1 rpm more) . I have done 793 Kms now and soon will start throttling it more.

                    • Ninja 250 Waiting Period

The Bajaj Probiking dealer in Kanjurmarg Mumbai mentions the waiting period as 135 days or 4.5 months. Would anyone have an idea as to where I can book the bike with a lesser waiting period? I can buy the bike from Mumbai or Pune.

Also any idea of the best finance terms offered?

Looking forward to some help in these matters.

135 days is the maximum waiting period, the wait is much lesser but they quote that to be safe and not invite brickbats. every showroom in india will quote the same waiting period. On and average the wait is going to be for about 2 months or a lil more. check the same thread in one of my posts i've attached a finance scheme given to me by the gurgaon probiking

Also, @others, Rohan has run in his Ninja in the most perfect way possible. Having ridden a few, I can say that his is by far the most free revvin and smooth.
