The ninja will be my second bike too !! I'll buy her probably by Mar-Apr when my car EMI gets over.

My current bike is the Kinetic Hysoung Aquila, so I am kind of already used to riding a huge heavy 250 in bumper to bumber bangalore traffic !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

Moreover, the interest run can only be started once the amount has been credited to my account. They won't be able to fool me with the terms and conditions. I am in corporate banking so I deal with structures much more complicated than these everyday. Moreover, since i have to pay the EMIs sooner or later, I am not really concerned about when i pay them.
What I am concerned about is their intention to follow up on the promise of delivery within the promised duration once i accept their loan. I don't want to pay the whole amount upfront ( as against the 40k that everyone else is paying as booking amount) and still have to wait 3-4 months for delivery. The opportunity costs connected to a sum as big as 150k are a bigger concern for me than the EMIs.
Can someone tell me whether in today's scenario(with the long waiting periods being quoted everywhere else) it is possible for the bank's people to really get the bike delivered within 45 days? Thanks for the replies!
Yes, it is possible for banks having tie ups with the probiking showroom to help you with the bike earlier. Currently probikings in MUmbai & N Mumbai have tie ups with ICICI instead of Bajaj Auto Finance (Which was surprising to me in the begining). The result of this tie up is that PBKs end up earning more than what the bike is worth due to profit sharing with the Bank. This magnitude of profit sharing wont be possible with BAL since the rate of interest starts from 6% P.a for one year Vis a vis 11-12% for ICICI .
SO yes, if the bank recommends you may get it earlier. I got my p220 in 14th sept 2007 though I had booked on 5th Sept 07 due to the loan. The waiting period for the p220 was way more than 5 months back then.

Dont worry abt the interest & EMI they start only once the amount has been disbursed to Bajaj(which they wont accept unless the bikes ready for delivery). ANd once the complete amount has been paid, they are required to give you the bike, else you may drag them to court.

Mumbai Roads = (NO parking + Pay and Parks) - (really really bad roads with pot holes)

The road tax I pay funds the people who tow away my vehicle, the money I pay the RTO to release my vehicle funds new no-parking boards!!!!

Some body needs to be terminated!!!!!!

I second that, I had posted earlier about being able to use the ninja only as the second bike in India. And this is not just because of heavy traffic, it has more to do with vandalism and people getting fidgity with the bike when you park it.
It would be very hard to take the Ninja for a movie and park it in the parking lot and watch the movie in peace. That is where my p220 will come in.
(I have vandalised my own 220 by taking off all the decals, now no one bothers to touch it, I cant do that to my Ninja when I get it)

          1) Photograph
          2) Address proof
          3) Salary SLip
          4) Bank Statement for the last 6 months
          5) Letter from mother allowing you to take the loan

Was kidding about point 5, every thing else is the minimum requirement depending upon the bank. Hope this helps.
          Cheers

This sounds too good to be true, as i had gone to the kanjurmarg pbk here last week and he was very circumspect about promising a delivery even within 4 months! The bank people are getting this deal from the other pbk and they say that since they deal with them a lot, they will get him to deliver within 45 days if i pay the complete downpayment in cash at the time of booking (about 150k).
I suspect they may be doing this just to get me to take the loan and start running the interest at the earliest possible date. I am afraid that once i accept the loan, they will forget the promises and i would have to wait for 3-4 months for delivery having paid the huge amount as downpayment. What's worse is that i won't be able to cancel booking.
            Can somebody advice plz?

it is possible to start your emi later, but whether later or now you have to pay it,

i have booked from Kanjurmarg pbk on 14 Oct and i have been told to wait for atleast 2 months

very true..when i got my 220 from Thane i was told if i paid the entire amt in cash i had to wait longer then taking a loan

Thanks for the reply...Hope what you are saying is true....though about the ICICI bit, i don't think ICICI has a tie up with bajaj right now. ICICI has completely stopped all 2 wheeler loans and small ticket personal loans. It's only servicing the existing regular 2 wheeler loans. I guess the Bajaj people must have replaced ICICI with some other bank now. however, when i went to the pbk to ask about financing options, they said that none were available.

Anyway, the status currently is that they want to verify my permanent address and that would mean them going to my house in lucknow and informing my parents about the loan, which would unleash furies from the pits of hell. Now that's one tension I don't want in my life right now. as of now, i am trying to convince them not to do that or perhaps say that it's for the purpose of credit card verification. Let's see if that can be done otherwise i'll have to wait to save up enough to be able to buy in cash.

About the documents required for financing are:
                  1) address proof
                  2) permanent address proof ( if different from 1)
                  3) Copy of PAN Card
                  4) Two Photographs
                  5) 2 Months' Salary Slip
                  6) 6 months' bank statements

there may be a few differences from one bank to the other. i suggest that you call up the call center of the bank of your choice and ask the relevant person to contact you.

                            • Thanks All again.......

@ Bluevolt, I will surely put something on ownership thread. Leaving for KRP for Tank Protector in few mins..

Bike is really eye catchy, I took it in the morning with Roger on ride near DU area and every individual on the road couldn't resist without looking at it. Bike is really powerful and sticks to road well. I have regained my confidence after driving it which was lost with my old Classic Pulsar 180 due to some incidents. Truly speaking I couldn't have got better deal than this.

Will keep you all posted on ownership thread...till that time, Happy Biking....vrooooooommmmmmmmmmm!!!
