I am not sure what is the status of Ninja there though!
I have not lived there, but been there many times. It seems like a decent place, a little laid back though. But Chandigarh is a planned city with a lot of strict building bylaws, so the city looks slightly sterile and clinical.

Can't say about the Ninja in Ahmedabad, though. Gujju's are frugal people by nature, so don't know how many will be dishing out 3 lakhs on a motorycle.

        But something to munch on:
Chandigarh has great roads, with a low road tax.
Bangalore has the worst roads, with highest road taxes!

Well, that won't be the case, because there's no way that they start the emi's immediately after approval. Being a banker myself i know that i need to accept their sanction letter before they can start running interest on the loan. Moreover, the interest run can only be started once the amount has been credited to my account. They won't be able to fool me with the terms and conditions. I am in corporate banking so I deal with structures much more complicated than these everyday. Moreover, since i have to pay the EMIs sooner or later, I am not really concerned about when i pay them.
What I am concerned about is their intention to follow up on the promise of delivery within the promised duration once i accept their loan. I don't want to pay the whole amount upfront ( as against the 40k that everyone else is paying as booking amount) and still have to wait 3-4 months for delivery. The opportunity costs connected to a sum as big as 150k are a bigger concern for me than the EMIs.
Can someone tell me whether in today's scenario(with the long waiting periods being quoted everywhere else) it is possible for the bank's people to really get the bike delivered within 45 days? Thanks for the replies!

bro these days ninja is running on a 135 days waiting time...so there is no way that bank can make it roll out in 45 days.....

Thanks bro! I have opted for black as I like it better somehow. I am supposed to get delivery in last week of November (as told by Pune PBK), which seems far away as of now.

Thanks! I guess then that i will insist on just paying the booking amount upfront and the remaining amount on the date of delivery.

Agreed for Bangalore. High road tax for no roads. One of my friends when caught by a cop for road tax (for his transferred vehicle) had told the cop - "Road tax...but where are the roads?" .

In Ahmedabad, people are spendthrifts but they spend too much money on houses and four wheels. They keep buying four wheeler in the tune of say 2-3 four wheelers per family!

It is also possible that delivery of Ninja might not be as quick in Ahmedabad. Quickest has been in Delhi followed by Chennai if I am not wrong.

Ok. I guess that's an option that can be explored.

I drive my Ninja on a daily basis in bumper to bumper traffic. This may seem idiotic but what can I do? keep it at home? My house is only 2.2 km from my office and I encounter 8 traffic signals in between.

This sounds too good to be true, as i had gone to the kanjurmarg pbk here last week and he was very circumspect about promising a delivery even within 4 months! The bank people are getting this deal from the other pbk and they say that since they deal with them a lot, they will get him to deliver within 45 days if i pay the complete downpayment in cash at the time of booking (about 150k).
I suspect they may be doing this just to get me to take the loan and start running the interest at the earliest possible date. I am afraid that once i accept the loan, they will forget the promises and i would have to wait for 3-4 months for delivery having paid the huge amount as downpayment. What's worse is that i won't be able to cancel booking.
                                Can somebody advice plz?
