Really? How many would actually buy it? I certaintly hope for KTM's to be laiunched though. If 'I' have to put down Rs 10 lakhs plus, i want to tour with the bike.Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostThe KTMs will be launched at the Auto Expo. I have a feeling they will be even better. A 250 and a 125 is rumoured.
It would be great if they bring the ZX6R and ZX10R.
I agree totally. I thought atleast in this forum, there were real enthusiasts and put their money where their mouth is. Everyone wants to buy an entire garage of superbikes but no one does becos they are not 'rightly priced'. Should they all just hand out the bikes for free to so called enthusiasts?Originally posted by RedApple View Postexactly...if u got the money, then buy it..if not, then either put up or shut up. Jesus im sick of all the whining and *****ing on here...
A real enthusiast would not let a little overtly priced bike be a hindrance for purchasing the bike. Thats what seperates enthusiast from run-of-the mill rider. I mean how many over here would've actually bought it even if it was 2 lakhs. ppl would still crib - 'its expensive'.Last edited by dhairya; 10-08-2009, 03:47 PM.

Well R-series , dont take the calculation seriously , I just said it jokingly. What I`m trying to convey is that at Rs. 3 lac on road, the Ninja is good value of money and a practical bike to own in India , considering the roads and Traffic conditions. Also the Ninja 250 is the first True blue Sportsbike launched in India after the Yamaha R15 with twice the power , which can be afforded by a quite a few people in the upper middle class who had always wished to own a sportsbike and cannot afford the steeply priced sportsbikes like R1,CBR 1000RR and Hayabusa.Originally posted by R-series View PostI dont see much sense in this calculation...
and it doesn't work this way either ..
R1 - $13,290
R6 - $10,490 whats up with that..?GO FAST OR GO HOME !

cant rich people be enthusiasts ? At every new bike launch all we see is cribbing and more cribbing here thesedaysOriginally posted by M.R.B View PostI Called up Khivraj Bajaj in Bangalore. They informed that they do not have any information on Ninja 250. Will be able to make any representation once the bike is officially launched in Bangalore. Its now launched only in Pune.
Next call went to Bajaj contact center. Price in North is
2,69,970
Rs Ex Showroom. (Add the state Road Tax and Insurance).
They also mentioned that at this Point of time no additional information is available apart from this.
With this pricing this would be a Rich Boys Toy not an Enthusiast or Riders counterpart
.
Now only hope is point TVS. Hope this time they wo'nt follow the Leggard policy like the way they did for Apache 180cc.

Please do post the pics when you get it!Originally posted by akshays View PostYaa I am buying one have been bugging the probiking guys for a month now
. The booking starts max by monday said one of the probiking guys. Am waiting for tht day.
Its all peace dude! High mileage always helps in touring or lets say if mileage is low, fuel tank should be bigger. I think Ninja should;ve had a higher cpaacity fuel tank. I love the fact that my 220 has a range of about 650 kms. I mean when everyone said, 'fuel up in Rohru' before chansal, i was like - 'i do not need to!'Originally posted by tanay View PostAha...now if the 30-35 figure is indeed correct...THEN we have a tourer!
PS : Please don't flame me for this, I know performance and mileage don't go hand in hand.
Peace pls.
mileage or tank size are a big factor in touring - 220 has both making it awesome tourer!
I only wish that there were after market fuel tanks - or larger stock fuel tanks. I mean just through that on a ninja and the range increases!

CKD Route
The govt has some rule (dumb) of not allowing sub-800cc bike but then how come Bajaj could launch this 250cc bike?Originally posted by yamahatrooper View PostI think it's because the Govt has some very stringent regulations in place for the import of bikes below 800 cc to shield indegenous companies thats why the 600s are not comming our way.
Can't they (or other manufacturers) follow the CKD route and launch 600cc bike? All riders fall; some get back on, some don't, some can't...

for CKD , you need to have an assembly line , for 200 bikes a year , how many manufacturers will do that?sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk
