              • Well the price seems to be a very well guarded secret in Bajaj.

On the Bike front I am very sure MG is working on a good Report with lots of pics

".....finally the Ninja 250 R is all set to make its debut at Bajaj Auto's Akrudi plant next week. There are no technical changes made to the Ninja 250R and it will be imported from Thailand as Completly Knocked Kit (CKD)......
......Bajaj Auto has been highly secretive about the bike's pricing and it is very difficult right now to quote the correct pricing. However, since it is CKD import, the duties slapped on the Kawasaki will be lesser in comparison to duties levied on direct a CBU import...."

                    • My assumptions on why this Bike is going to cost Rs.185,000:

                      1) The bike costs Thai Baht 140,000 which translates into Rs.1.9 lakhs. India and Thailand have a FTA (Free trade agreement) a part of which mandates zero duty imports on certain sectors, including auto parts. So even the Bike sells for 1.85 -1.90 lakhs here, it is no such a big deal. I know this sounds shocking - I can have a friendly bet that the Ninja is going to be below Rs.2 lakhs on road.

                      2) Knowing Bajaj and their sensitivity to pricing (see value loaded p220!), they would look to price this bike very aggressively. After all, the Ninja 250 is a brand driver and not a volume driver - it will not impact their margins if they sell a couple of thousand Ninjas every year

I can't wait to fit a Akrapovic or a yoshimura muffler on the baby Ninja!!!

                        • 1.8 or 2.8 laks. No matter, lets wait for a few days and see for ourselves instead of doing so much guess work! No point is speculating. Besides wasn't this topic locked just a while ago?!

                          • @all: I seriously believe we all should just cut this price crap for now. It's just a few days, and everything about the Ninja 250 will be revealed by Bajaj. So, I believe there is no use just filling the server space with price talks about the Baby Ninja.
                            :)

Very nice valid and sane points...this is what a lot of us are expecting.... also to make it easier... the price in Thailand is inclusive of the dealer margin and all...! So it would be neat if Bajaj does price it in that sub 2Lakh range...

Like aryan says, lets just hang on there and find out for ourselves later!

How many of you all are going for it and at what price points...

                                Sub 2 Lakhs, Definitely in
Sub 2.5 Lakhs, Most Probably in
Sub 3 Lakhs, Ho Hum, May be
Sub 3.5 Lakhs, Ho Hum, Not sure
Sub 4 Lakhs, Ho Hum, No way! - Will wait for Katoom instead
