If the safe speed that you mentioned is for city limits then I agree else I disagree. On many of our national highway you can easily cruise at 140-150 without any worries.

Err..100-120 kmph in city safely? Maybe for a short dash risking self and others. The only highway I have been able to cruise safely (There are other good highways. Its just that I've not been on those highways) above 120 is Mumbai-Pune expressway..in a car at sustained speed. The 250R may be capable to cruise at 140-150. Ironically if I'm not mistaken, two wheelers are not allowed in the expressway .

You sure you talking about India? Where can you ride at 100-120kmph inside the city limits? Highway speeds depend upon traffic conditions.

Few pieces of information

Good morning gentlemen,

I was browsing and found some pieces of information regarding the bike. I thought of letting you all know what I found :

As one of you guys posted, the first bit is about the import and the duty factors. This news was released in business standard long back and states the following :

Access to the lucrative South-East Asian market and the low cost of importing products back home are amongst the key reasons which are attracting Indian auto players to set shop in Thailand. Thailand is among the ten countries of the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA). AFTA has eliminated many trade tariffs among its member nations to help boost investments. Because of FTA, import duty on CKD and semi-knocked-down kits is only 10 per cent whereas from other countries it attracts more thn 50%. Hence unlike other superbikes this is going to be affordable.



The second piece of news is pretty recent and states a few significant points : (From **********.in)

The little monster from Kawasaki is being released on the 7th of October at around 1pm in an official launch party in Delhi. However, the bike would be available to the masses in limited numbers and could only be bought on advance booking through the Pro Biking outlets of Bajaj (only). The bike will be released in two colors, the scintillating green and the awesome black.

Bajaj has still kept the pricing hidden from the market but according to our sources this bike would cost anything around Rs.2,50,000. Bajaj has been in constant talks with Kawasaki about the pricing and wanted this bike to be available to the masses at the lowest possible price and if you see anything lower, it would only be through constant endeavor from Bajaj of providing fun riding at affordable prices.

Initially this bike would be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from Thailand and as and if the demand rises Bajaj might also assemble it here in turn resulting in a drop in the pricing.

From the above two news items, there are contradictions about CKD and CBU as well. Bandhav might be able to throw better light on these.

guys, I know the pro-biking manager from gurgaon. He has just flown to pune for the training. I called him and he replied that the training will happen tomorrow that is 4th of October. He will get to know the price there itself and has promised to call me regarding the pricing details. So hopefully, we should have the pricing by tomorrow. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
