    Kothrud...

When I arrived ther, the bike was all covered and the moment they revealed the bike, I was done with the beauty of the bike...

Later they took it to the "Major service bay" inside...!

The official told me that the bike would be available very shortly in the showrooms for display (probably he was hinting after launch)

He cleared that the bike is a CKD and the bike would be priced competitively (Please donot dream speculations here...)

Moreover, He said that the bike would be available for booking soon after the bikes launch..!

One thing was sure that the bike was being made ready for something....!

And it was the same model which was caught by fellow xbhpians in Pune PBK, ruby clinic.....!

I didnt save it, and dont remember most of it since it has been a while.
But this is what I can say (Dont take my word for it. Test drive!):
            - The engine is built for high rpm. The power kicks in after 5krpm all the way upto 12k, and I can definitely say it is almost twice better than the indian bikes I have driven (p180, cbz, zma). Below 5k its like a 100cc bike.
            - The gear ratios are closely spaced and shifting is smooth. Most of the action is at 3-4-5-6. I barely use 1st and 2nd. (I stop in traffic lights on 3rd!)
            - It can comfortably do freeway speeds (120kmph - 6th gear - 7k rpm) for long time. There is a high pitched whine due to the high rpm which is slightly annoying (other ninja owners have installed a bigger front sprocket for this). Not much vibration at high speeds.
            - Mileage around 50mpg (miles per gallon). I have not checked exactly. Does not matter much here.
            - No issues so far.

                        • OMG! The hype regarding the bike is building so much among the non-xbhp bikers that Bajaj better play this right. Everybody + their dog are expecting a price of 1.5-2L which in itself is very unrealistic. Heck some of those idiots are comparing it to the Fz16/R15!Lmao . They are just taking the prices off the Thai/US sites and converting them into rupees. The whole thing is getting so much hyped that it ain't funny anymore. I am expecting a huge backlash (partially due to stupidity on the bikers part of assuming prices) if Bajaj prices this on the wrong side. Fingers crossed...

What if it is indeed between 1.8-2 lakhs? I am one of those who expect it to be so, and would be obviously disappointed if it ain't. I am not really against spending some extra cash on a nice motorcycle, but getting ripped off is another thing. I know there are duties and import taxes and stuff, but that's besides the point. Sports cycles in India cost almost double the price than everywhere else in the world, and that is why something like the lowly HD XL883 Sportster is going to cost a whopping 7 lakhs when it hits India in March next year.

My friendly bet on the Rs.1.85-1.90 price on the 250R is still on, btw Will come to know in a few days!

                              • From all the sources, it looks like the price is final.. 1,85,000 ex-showroom..
                                2lac on road..
Seems to be a great deal..
