  • I agree with what Aryan says, lets just cut out the pricing speculation. It is just a few days worth of wait.
For me, I am waiting for this launch.

        1) The bike costs Thai Baht 140,000 which translates into Rs.1.9 lakhs. India and Thailand have a FTA (Free trade agreement) a part of which mandates zero duty imports on certain sectors, including auto parts. So even the Bike sells for 1.85 -1.90 lakhs here, it is no such a big deal. I know this sounds shocking - I can have a friendly bet that the Ninja is going to be below Rs.2 lakhs on road.

        2) Knowing Bajaj and their sensitivity to pricing (see value loaded p220!), they would look to price this bike very aggressively. After all, the Ninja 250 is a brand driver and not a volume driver - it will not impact their margins if they sell a couple of thousand Ninjas every year

I can't wait to fit a Akrapovic or a yoshimura muffler on the baby Ninja!!!
I am not sure it's 0% duty, but it will be lower than what is normally charged. Also you have forgotten the fact that the CKD's have to be shipped here. So thai price + logistics expense + Bajaj's margin + Dealer margin will be the ex-showroom price.

Also the Ninja is more of a PR exercise for Bajaj who want to establish themselves in the premium segment firmly. So i doubt this will be a volume driven exercise. Also since there is no competition in the 250cc segment (yea the Zma or the p220 are no match neither is the R15) and no pressure for volumes i think there is going to be a bit of optimistic pricing. Not too high not too low.

See above post of Payeng to get the official launch date of Ninja. Now I guess there will no more speculation on Launch date.

Conuntdown timer currently says 5days 17 hours 47mins left i.e the bike is launching on 7th October at 1p.m.
            Something wrong with the timer.

You post is timed at 7:12pm, yesterday. It is now 2pm, today. On re-checking timer at 14:00 it shows 5days 8 hours 30min. 9hrs difference. Subtracting 14:00 today from 19:00 yesterday is much more than 9 hours. I noted similar from previous post.

Timer depends on your PC clock. Adjust your PC clock. If you want to check, just set change PC date/time and the website timer will change too.

Here there is a line "" The only visible changes on the bike include a matte-black exhaust pipe and the black-coloured rear tail unit with a green pillion seat, unlike the black tail unit seen on the international model. ""

Couldn't get it.. can some one explain ??

Historic event is gona take place with the launch of ninja.

If the pricing is gona be competitive that is going to kill the market for
                      yamaha's [ r15 ].

Complete change of the motorcycling future.
Hope the best to come for the indian's

                            • A safe speed in India would be around 100-120, though the 250R is capable of doing much more. If the traffic condition permits, 140-150 should be no problem for the 250R...
