OMG! This thread has gone ballistic!
What a day it was!
I narrowly missed a trucks silencer that kinda exploded and flew towards me @ Panvel!
Spotted a new FZ breed... I swear! 8 people riding it with Temp numbers and uniform and lids... there was something different about the bikes but couldnt figure what it was... plus was running out of time, so couldnt chase them
Spotted 3 New TATA Cars...
1 looks like the Indigo version of the Indica Vista... a sedan with Vista styled Lamps
1 another sedan that looks completely fresh..
1 SUV, which looked like the new SUMO on Steriods!!!
Clicked pics, but what the hell, we are a bike community!
Had a brilliant Ninja feeler, which I will post only after MOD approval...

Ground clearance also will be a major concern in city.
So looks like this is a bike to be ridden on smooth highways only.
It a high reving bike alright, but its much better than the R15 on low end... and if you can manage the R15, then this thing will simply blow you away!Originally posted by santoosh View Post@gs
the power in the low range will not be phenomenal , its a high revving bike , so power only in the later rpm's.
Wont ppl crib about it ??
Santa
PS: People will continue to crib even if Ducati brings a 125CC bike and price it as 50k
Going by that logic, its almost as good\bad as my R15... 10L x 30 odd KMPL.... heck atleast I will reach the Fuel station fasterOriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostMy take: 300kms.by the time it comes to reserve.
Basis for calculation: Tank capacity: 17L, 2L reserve.
Mileage 50mpg=21kmpl acc.to Ninja forums.
So I took it as 20kmpl*15lts.=300kms.&you would have about 20kms.to look for the nearest ExtraPremium/ any other 91 octane stocking petrol pump. Atleast one litre must be left in the tank, coz its fuel injected&the pump needs that minimum quantity of fuel in it, to avoid problems.
Originally posted by Technocrat View PostWith so many fuel stations on road now, 360 kms is by no means a small range.
I mean seriously, dont go for this bike if you intend to off road on it.... not that its not possible to manage it, but it would be a weird thing to do so!Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostThe concern is not of the riding posture/stance/tyres. The Ninja has the same seat height of 790mm.&caster angle of 26 degrees as the R15.
I have been using the R15 for all kinds of touring&have never had an issue with it. My last tour involved heavy off roading too.
The issue is with the ground clearance of the vehicle, which prevents us from getting adventurous in off-roading.
Filling fuel bit is fine though, range is ok to me coz my R15 gives me about 430kms.to a full tank before coming to reserve.
And yes, Fi bikes do not have reserve/petrol on/off knob, but there is an indication that the bike is going into reserve-the R15's odo creates a separate tripmeter after the last dot starts blinking. The Ninja having an analog dash I donno how it would show us that.

+1, I, for one now think that 2.69 Lakhs is a pretty impressive deal, considering that you have a 'legal' Euro class bike!Originally posted by razorBlades View Postnext wait is for KTMs.. even if it is for 10+ lacs, I am buying one
and not the ninja for 3+ lacs
(my personal favs being KTM's)
My ONLY reason to NOT buy this would be the KaTooM!! and from what I heard today, the 690 is a notch above the Ninja in overall performance! but then the 66bhp engine under the ass can make a mess of it in city riding! OMG! Why cant life be simple!
I am seriously confused!Originally posted by ashes View Postany xbhpian seriously thinking of buying one??
B2L? Who is that...? and was he @ Chakkan?Originally posted by desideep View Postdoes any one know B2L from the forum rode the bike today?
No 'official' test rides sirOriginally posted by payeng View PostSo far I have observed that only new xBhp members have confirmed to buy it. Are test rides being offered..??
Both Yamaha and Honda have single cylinder 250 (300) cc bikes.. Yamaha has the YBR (Fazer) 250 and Honda the CB300R (the upgrade of the 250 cc CBX Twister).. both these models sell in Brazil.. but then these are single cylinder, air-cooled bikes... and won't be as high revving as the Ninja 250R.
Even if these models might not be a direct competition to the Ninaj 250R, if made available in India, these models could be priced lower (especially if manufactured in India).

More is never enuf
Cribbing, too much is never enough
ROFLMAO! On one hand a zillion people here CRY for someone as n00b as M&M to bring the GT250... with NO idea of how they would be able to service this.... and then this comment is downright hilarious!Originally posted by anirudh fz1 View PostBajaj is not at all interested in selling Ninja in large volumes because it is not their mainstream product!! They want to slap the pulsar bikes to indian people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally, I feel Bajaj has done a great job in bringing this bike to India... Heck this is a new segment, it ends up repositioning R15 as poor mans performance bike!!!!
I agree with Part 2, but that calculation was sweet :POriginally posted by rider_no46 View PostI dont understand why people are cribbing about the Ninja . 3 lac. is a good price for a multicylinder sportsbike which has come via the skd route. Make a simple calculation Yamaha R1 is 1000cc costs 12lac plus , now divide it by 4 , you have 250 cc and 3 lac.
Also its exactly the same bike that is available abroad without any India specific changes.
Regarding the analog meters and lack of fuel guage are just minor issues, whats important is that this bike hits 100 kmph in 7 sec and goes on to a top speed of 160+ kmph. Its the practical bike with more than adequate power for Indian conditions. Just think about how many people owning the Yamaha R1 or Honda CBR 1000RR or Suzuki Hayabusa have been able to explore all the massive power these machines have or have been on roads where they can reach near 300 kmph speed the above machines go to.
The Ninja is a good bike and all good things come at a price!
How much do you think TVS should sell RTR160 for :P Just curious~!
KTMs are 'coming soon'Originally posted by rishi500 View PostBunny bro,why is it that every manufacturer is hellbent on bringing their litre class and other brutes but not a single of 'em tryin to get a 600 midweight?
Those crazy machines are just right for us.Perfect harmony of power and price.Whats barring them?
Sorry for being OT but this question boggles my mind.
I was told that the down payment would be around 50-75k for the bike but NOTHING has been finalised yet on the finance part, but they are SURE about getting finance option!Originally posted by Jonak View PostFirst you have to book with 40K. Then Probiking will place the order for you. Once the bike comes you have to pay the rest of the money and the bike is all yours. They are yet to decide about the finance options. All probiking showroom will have a separate section for Kawasaki Ninja. And each probiking showroom will have a big Kawasaki hoarding outside. The booking starts as soon the bike arrives in the showroom.

All said and done, I do believe this is a worthwhile product. One person who took a ride on the bike in the Bajaj test track in Pune said that it handled like magic. He also mentioned there was no surge of power but more of a linear delivery of power and clocked a 155kmph speedo read on the test track.
@Bunny: I remember reading somewhere that the carb version was more powerful than the Fi. I might be wrong.
Even I read this
@ all
When will we stop cribbing, when the grapes are out of our reach. Accept that you can not buy the bike because you do not have the money.
Giving lame excuses and blaming the awesome bike (or even more awesome Company) is really shameful.
Understand the huge leap we, as a biking nation, has taken through this step
Thank Bajaj for all this else we (and probably our grand children) would have died counting the endless permutations and combinations of those 97cc Japanese engines which we would have been limited to!2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
2006 - Eterno (sold)
2008 - Dio (Owned)
2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

u see, the only conditions:Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostErr.. how about buying me the new Benz E Class? I am sure its engine is above 500cc.
As for you, how about a TVS 50? It is a sub 250cc bike alright!
Now, you game?!
car's engine between 500 and 650 cc; Teh car should be manufactured in India
for bike, the engine should be parallel ttwin, between 240 and 251 cc. and should be assembled in India!
