Plus a 4 valve dual cam engine is modern enough for us Indians !!
+1(Ot: when the r15 came with the tech which changed the entire performance segment to next level)

              • This has been discussed like a million times before. The Fi unit for India is because of the European standard emission norms.

The US have less stricter emission norms compared to India/Europe which is why initially even Harley had a tiff with government asking them to reduce the emission norms.

All said and done, I do believe this is a worthwhile product. One person who took a ride on the bike in the Bajaj test track in Pune said that it handled like magic. He also mentioned there was no surge of power but more of a linear delivery of power and clocked a 155kmph speedo read on the test track.

@Bunny: I remember reading somewhere that the carb version was more powerful than the Fi. I might be wrong.

                  • Why so much cribbing???

I dont understand why people are cribbing about the Ninja . 3 lac. is a good price for a multicylinder sportsbike which has come via the skd route. Make a simple calculation Yamaha R1 is 1000cc costs 12lac plus , now divide it by 4 , you have 250 cc and 3 lac. Also its exactly the same bike that is available abroad without any India specific changes.
Regarding the analog meters and lack of fuel guage are just minor issues, whats important is that this bike hits 100 kmph in 7 sec and goes on to a top speed of 160+ kmph. Its the practical bike with more than adequate power for Indian conditions. Just think about how many people owning the Yamaha R1 or Honda CBR 1000RR or Suzuki Hayabusa have been able to explore all the massive power these machines have or have been on roads where they can reach near 300 kmph speed the above machines go to.
The Ninja is a good bike and all good things come at a price!
GO FAST OR GO HOME !

                        1. Oh yeh? Y do u think the YBR 250 from Yamaha cannot come to India immediately? Its because of our strict norms
                        2. Sales : no manufacturer in India who has launched big bikes has ever looked at sales. Neither is Bajaj : they are looking at selling 1000units in the first year
Bunny bro,why is it that every manufacturer is hellbent on bringing their litre class and other brutes but not a single of 'em tryin to get a 600 midweight?
Those crazy machines are just right for us.Perfect harmony of power and price.Whats barring them?
Sorry for being OT but this question boggles my mind.

I think it's because the Govt has some very stringent regulations in place for the import of bikes below 800 cc to shield indegenous companies thats why the 600s are not comming our way.

First you have to book with 40K. Then Probiking will place the order for you. Once the bike comes you have to pay the rest of the money and the bike is all yours. They are yet to decide about the finance options. All probiking showroom will have a separate section for Kawasaki Ninja. And each probiking showroom will have a big Kawasaki hoarding outside. The booking starts as soon the bike arrives in the showroom.
