Whoa .. I'm back from a hiatus and looks like lots of petrol has flown under the bridge !!Originally posted by gsferrari View PostSounds like a dive into the deep end of the pool after all. That is great news...I'd have hated it if they did the kiddy-pool act with only 50 bikes. Well this looks very interesting from the stunting, trackday and touring point of view. The R15 is all-new tech and the Ninja is basically 90's tech in fresh skin but from an Indian biker perspective - we need them both...and more!
I think it would be wiser for me to stick with the TZR250's 45+ bhp for a track-only tool. Whoever gets their Ninja first - I got dibs for a test-ride!!
If it were indeed a single lot of 50 bikes, then I'd have adviced pple against buying the bikes!! Because sooner or later, when there is no more bikes to sell, a company does lose interest in the bike and then Ninja owners will also go thru the same spare parts/servicing hell that we Aquila/Comet owners go thru !!
But then that kind of tension might be worth it, depending on how you look at it !!Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

SKD means not all parts are in the kit. Which could very well mean Bajaj could use some locally sourced parts i.e.tyres, batteries, nuts, boltsOriginally posted by kaynmantis View PostAccording to AutoIndia, Bike is coming in SKD (Semi Knocked Down). I've no idea what that will mean on pricing.
etc... Which in turn also hints at competitive pricing or fatter margins

guys, the sad part begins again!!!!!! I called up pro-biking outlets in CP, Delhi, Vasant Vihar and also Bajaj Customer Care, nobody, I repeat nobody has news of the Ninja. What is happening??
I am beginning to doubt this Oct 5 date, as it is just 5 days away and nobody has a clue of the launch!!!!!!

Lets all wait and watch what's there for us next month rather than repeating things again and again over this thread!!!
I also called up Vasant Vihar PB, all they said is that they only have a banner in place and only info they provided was that bike will be launched nxt month. Lets wait for the actual news rather than believing rumours!!!

If the news is from AutoIndia, then it CAN be believed.. Also, would'nt SKD attract lesser duty as compared to CKD.. Way to go BAL!!Originally posted by Wheel_Spin View PostSKD means not all parts are in the kit. Which could very well mean Bajaj could use some locally sourced parts i.e.tyres, batteries, nuts, bolts

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostMeans Pulsar tyres, batteries will be seen in Ninja Indian versionWhat quality problems did you guys face wit pulsar tyre and battery. Tyres are by MRF,i would rate it the best indian made tyres and batteries are by exide. Also i cannot digest the fact that pulsars are of throw away quality when my 150 has stood nearly 5 years with just a sprocket and tyre replacement. Not even cluthch plates.Originally posted by tanay View PostWhich means the quality goes down the drain (assuming it has not gone down already due to other localised parts).
